Awesome updates Aelous. I do agree that the fact this world has a name is a good sign for world building. I'm not sure how I feel about another avatar character but I hope he/she is more like Robin or Kris than Corrin. Meaning other characters, primarily the students get a share of the character development spotlight.

Started the new year by beating Lego the Hobbit. I liked that it took some gameplay and design ques from the lotr entry. A shame the remainder of the story wasn't included in the game. I also had some difficulty differentiating between some of the dwarves.

Did another run of Fire Emblem Awakening. Paired the avatar with Cordelia this time.

This week I played through Lego Star Wars Complete. My favourite level from the prequels was droid factory and as for the original trilogy it would be the duel against Darth Vader.

A penpal of mine recommended me High Score Girl. Two episodes in and I like it so far. It handles the retro gaming theme really well.

^ Interesting coincidence, I also beat a Lord of the Rings game today. Finished Lego Lord of the Rings for the second time today. Enjoyed it more the second time around and even managed snag a few of those tongue-in-cheek achievements(i.e. what about second breakfast?). Its definitely one of my favourite Lego games.

Costume Quest 2: Solid sequel though I think I prefer the first game. Had a lot of fun with most of the costumes in battle. Clown, hotdog and pharaoh were my favourites which was also my roster for most of the game. Simple and fun. Nothing much else to say.

Started Costume Quest 2 today. Hoping to resolve the cliffhanger from the first game soon. Had to endure a bunch of battles with the candy corn costume before I unlocked pterodactyl.

Edit: Got the Krono Trigger achievement this Sunday. Pretty cool reference.

The ending to Super Mario Galaxy made me a bit teary eyed. I thought it was really charming. Granted I wasn't completely done. There were still purple coins and many more stars to collect before reaching 100%.

Since today is about Wind Waker I thought I'd leave a comment. Like a lot of people I initially shied away from it due to bad press at the time it received for the art style. By the time I got around to playing the game it quickly won me over and now it stands as my favourite entry and Gamecube title. The shift from land to sea was one departure I really loved whether its finding a new island or retrieving sunken treasure.

One cool tidbit I'd like to mention is that this game was showcased as part of an exhibit for the Vancouver Art Gallery I visited many years ago. The exhibit covered art in videogames, animation, comics, anime and manga; basically pop culture. I thought it was neat that the general public was being exposed to this game.

Beat Super Mario Galaxy 2 for the umpteenth time. Still my favourite game of all time.

Several months ago I did mention that I've been reading through the Redwall series. As of today I've started reading The Rogue Crew, which is the last book in the series due to the passing of Brian Jacques's. I'm enjoying it so far especially the ship that can move on land.

I played The Banner Saga on Switch a few weeks back. Definitely had a good time except the lack of manual saving.
I do wish saving was a bit more convenient in this series. I like being able to save automatically after winning a battle as is done in other games belonging to the Srpg genre.

I've also encountered an infamous bug that prevents the player from repositioning units prior to the start of a battle.

Did a few replays these past few weeks.

Pokemon Alpha Sapphire: Did a Mudkip run and the mega-evolution did not disappoint.

The Legend of Zelda a Link Between Worlds: Second time beating this spiritual sequel to a Link to the Past. When I arrived at Lorule I did the water dungeon first in order to get the much coveted blue mail. Other than that it was mostly a standard playthrough.

Portal 2: Beat this for the third time. Still my favourite puzzle game.

Started Banner Saga 2 today after picking it up along with its sequel as part of a recent Steam sale. I'm having a blast so far. My most recent fight was against horseborn.

On the October 26th weekend I stayed at Portland, Oregon for a friend's bachelor party. This was my first time staying in the city and it was a blast. A lot of my friends and I are beer nerds so we visited a lot of breweries.
