Really curious what they do with this. Could just be the Witcher in a cyberpunk setting, but would that really be a bad thing?

No, it would definitely not be a bad thing. Though I do think they will try to keep the rules similar to the pen and paper game, thus not making it too similar. Either way, CDP and Cyberpunk? Holy crap, I need new pants.

Oh eww, 3DS? Well looks like this fan will be passing on this one. Not fair at all, but hopefully it turns out. Good anyways. Was hoping for the next main MegaTen game to be on PS3/360.

This game is the only reason I regret selling my Wii. And I regret that very much now. Here's hoping it works on Wii U(I expect it to), I'll play it then.

I always wanted to play this game, it looks fantastic. And everyone always praises it. Nice to see Septrra Core represented in the thread.

Vagrant Story. Some of the best graphics on PS, fantastic story and one of the most rewarding combat ever. Plus, it brought on the challenge.

I'm sorry, but I need to vent and BSN has become way too exagerated one way or another. But I don't think I've ever felt this way about a piece of entertainment. This game's ending is not fair, to anyone. I have been with the series since the start, own every collector's edition and DLC out, but I can't look at ME3 the way I did all the way up until the last 15 minutes. How can such a brilliant game get such a bizzare and careless ending? It's like it was written by some else entirely. I can't bring myself to even put the game in anymore. This come right on the heels of finishing a full on Xenosaga Ep1-3 run(first time, never finished ep2 and 3 back in the day), and for all the ups and downs that series had,  it ended in fantastically, and it didn't throw all logic out the window.

Oh well, here's hoping the "alternate/ theory for the ending turns out to be canon, and we get DLC.

I'm glad it's coming to Vita....but I want it for either the 360 or PS3 soooo bad. I miss PSO1&2, and never played PSU(worth it anymore? In a PS mood). Oh well, here's hoping they change their minds.

I'm pretty sure most would agree it introduced many to JRPGs, helped the PS1 be successful, and is overall very popular. And if that is all it took to be labelled "best game ever", that would be fine. Popularity speaks nothing about it's quality, and ANYONE who played even a few JRPGs(or RPGs in general), before the release of VII, would be hard pressed to see what's so special. It really didn't do much more for the JRPG genre than what CoD did for console, military shooters(make them popular). Now, I do think FFVII is of a much higher quality than anything Activision decides to defacate any given year, but let's not get carried away. Fun game? Yes. Decent story? Sure. Influential and important in popularizing the genre over seas? Definitely. Best game ever(or even best RPG ever)? That's some serious hyperbole.

That said, happy anniversary FFVII! I would totally get a remake if done well, since the world was quite well made. As long as whoever is doing anything related to FFXIII stays the hell away!

The demo is out? Cool. Any non-spoiler thoughts? I will be avoiding it, I want to know as little as possible.

It really is the hipster thing to say VII is not one of the best games made. I can't understand why people associate so much hate to the game when the dislike for it stema solely off the heap of shit square added to it for morons who wouldn't stop screaming for cloudxsephipoo fanfic ridiculousness. VII the game was vastly amazing for its time, and even now most rpgs still can't stand up to it in terms of story, depth, and content. VII gave you a ton of shit to do, but it never felt like a chore. I wish rpgs of today would take a cue from sidequests in vii and extra content not directly story related. The only thing thay didn't age well were visuals, but any true video gamer doesn't care about visuals enough to let it inhibit their desire to play a game.

Basically, all I'm getting at here is like the rest of the crap trendy fucks seem to like, hating vii is just cool, you know you don't hate it and you know damn well you'd love to play it again if you had the time.

Ugh...what? No, not liking FFVII is an opinion thing. It didn't set everyone's world on fire, and I sure as hell know I played MANY RPGs I found vastly superior(even before FFVII ever came out). I mean...one of the best games ever? Yeah, that's some exageration there chief.

Anyone who thinks FFVII is BRILLIANT really must not have played many RPGs. How can something be brilliant if it's the same damn the story as the previous....except in 3D? No, it's just a popular game. CoD is FAR from the best FPS out there ad yet it is surely the most popular and will be remembered as such. Anyways, what FFVII DID do, was give many people a reason to buy a PS1(one of the reasons for the console's success), and also introduce many people to RPGs, particularly JRPGs.

I guess I'll make a list like most of you. Here it is, from best to worst.

XII, IX, VIII, XI, VI, VII, XIII, X, VI, V, IV, X-2, III, I, II.

Yes, that is FFXI as 4th best. It was actually really awesome, from a story/lore point of view, and had some of the most fun and addicting gameplay out of all of them. Also, X-2 has some of the best combat of the series.
How come VI shows up on your list twice?

Haha, good catch. It was a mistake, fixed it now.

I dunno, even though he was on the cover, and you HAD to use in towns, I never considered Vaan the main character for FFXII at all. It seemed to be a lot more about Ashe to me, so I ended up having her as my lead for pretty much the whole game. I personally wish there were more FF games like XII, just with more back story for the characters(my main complaint for XII).

I've crossed the 30 hours mark in DDS1. The game keeps on getting better and better, and I'm having a blast!

But if you play MetgaTen game after MegaTen game you'll get SMT'd out.

I find this was only true for me when I played Persona 3 and 4 back to back. I was sick of P4 before the last dungeon. It probably depends on which SMT and how long it is, I enjoyed playing DDS 1, 2 and Nocturne all in succession with some Devil Survivor on the side. :)

I kind of agree with you here. When I first got P4, I had just done finished P3FES, and it I was not able to finish P4 due to that, even though I think it's an overall better game than P3 was. I have since finished it now, but I put it down for months. I managed to go from Nocturne, DDS1 and 2, and Devil Summoner all in succession no problem though.
