Number Two's eyes narrowed and became what are known in the Shouting and Killing People trade as cold slits, the idea presumable being to give your opponent the impression that you have lost your glasses or are having difficulty keeping awake. Why this is frightening is an, as yet, unresolved problem.

1  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: The NEW Game Journal on: May 19, 2013, 09:42:34 AM

I got a Vita awhile ago and decided to play some classics. First order of business is to get a new save in Final Fantasy 6 at the start of the second act. I also got Persona 4 Golden to keep my trophy hunting addiction sated.

I only played Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 prior to this, and DDS blew my mind. This game does not disappoint. Are the Persona remakes for PSP as good?
2  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: FFXI turns 11, time for a trip down memory lane... on: May 18, 2013, 09:42:01 PM

Man, those pics brought me back to a real special time. When the game launched, it really felt like some "no 7th graders on the 8th grader's lawn" kinda shit, and if you got lucky, a few cool JP players would let you sneak in a group and it would feel like winning the lottery.

I also learned I would never play another MMO that had a sound file for "level down".

How big is the group coming back? My wife and I played WoW from open beta until about a month ago. Killing Kael'thas and Vashj in their day was always a high water mark for me, but the FFXI days were pretty great. Is FF14 ARR close to the FFXI experience?

I finally broke my MMO curse and am back to the land of console gaming! Missed the site quite a bit, but is very cool to see so many familiar names still here. Gotta love The 'Fan.

My PSN ID is PesmergaEX. Feel free to add me, just let me know your from the here.

They reduced the damage cofefficents for pretty much all of thier moves and made the damage from Divine Strom physical. Ret Pallys were realyl fucked up, plain and simple. I play one, and it was unfair. It was a blast while it lasted though.

They also nerfed Judgements of the Wise to give 15% mana back compared to 33%.

Cool.I am not too keen on using my 360. I just have this fear that if I used it that much, I would be begging for a RRoD type situation. I will look into a few of those DVD players though.  What is the best software to rip DVDs with? Again, I am not looking for anything illegal.

Thanks for all the help so far.
6  The Rest / The Helper Monkey / Media Center for the new house on: October 13, 2008, 02:15:26 PM

So the wife and I are moving into a really sweet loft style house, from a two bedroom apartment. We are going to have to downsize and I was thinking of making a home media center with a spare PC I have. I am thinking of taking this spare PC and reformatting it. I was thinking that I could buy a few external harddrives for my entire DVD collection as well as music.

 So I ask:

Can I take all of my legally bought TV DVD sets and movies and place them on an external HDD and stream them from the PC? I have a LCD TV that hooks up to it fine. I want to do the same with all of my music, and all of my cds and dvds will be placed in storage to save space. I am thinking one really large HDD for movies/DVDs and one for music.

Is there something like Itunes for DVDs/TV Sets? Is that what appleTV is?

Help me!

Cool, I have not logged on today, as the band and I were prepping the stuido for recording today and I am about to finish some homework.

Yea, I am in the experimental stage with classes at this point. I like my Black Orc, he is like a bar from 18. I started a Zealot and I think I may stick with that. I played a shaman as my main in WoW and heal/support is more my style, especially in a setup like this. RvR is a whole different beast that WoW PvP.

Cool, I am all about Destruction. I am messing around with the classes but I think I am going to rock a shaman and chosen. I will try and get up with you all soon.

So, I am going to be working on a few toons, all destro and on the same server. Protspec,Ziguld, and Sigurn are all me. My wife is Nashira.

So, I got the game and I have played a Chosen to 9 and I am playing with a shaman as well. Where is everyone going to roll? Is there and "offical" RPGFan server or guild?

Things are going slow but swimmingly with ToV. School has been keeping quite busy. I thought I did really awesome on this Western Civ exam and I ended up missing the entire backside of the second page in my haste. I got a 72. Everything else was perfect. The teacher handed me my test and apologized, which is never a good sign.

Remember kids, when you take a test, ALWAYS look the whole thing over!
12  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Tales of Vesperia - Special Edition on: September 15, 2008, 12:15:57 AM
This will be the first Tales game that I will beat and replay. I am going to farm GRADE and do a second playthrough with all the good stuff unlocked to complete the monster and item book. The secret missions should be super easy the second time around, where I can last much longer.
Personally, for a game that really stresses replay, they could have cut some of the fluff. Every RPG is guilty of this, but I felt like there are too many scenes in the game where the characters come out and say "Well, this was a waste of time, lets go here then".
This game also needed a way to skip cut scenes. A few of the secret missions are tricky, and having to replay the same 10 mins over again 4-5 times to get the mission really sucks.
What I really love is the speed. The only long load time I ever see is when I start the game and the first random battle of the session. After that its warp speed.

I am digging the new boards!

Still working my way through ToV. I am in the desert town atm.  I am just plugging away at the main story in hopes of finishijng fast so I can GRADE farm and unlock all of the goodies. The second playthrough will be the really through one where I get everything.

Yea, my 360 is an elite as well, and it sounds like a turbine when I play any disc based game.

Quote from: "KeeperX"
I bought an Xbox 360.

I own:
Rockstar Table Tennis
Lost Odyssey
Infinite Undiscovery
Tales of Vesperia
that Warhammer RTS (NBGA sent me a promo copy for some reason)

Gamertag is Aerim.  Majority of my GamerScore is still from when I played Shadowrun on Vista :-p

Congrats on the purchase. I will add you on my friends if you dont mind. All that is missing from your purchase list is Castle Crashers! As soon as the Behemoth fixes its netcode, we can get some sweet 4 players 'Fan CC going.

Still playing the shit out of ToV. I love the loading and general battle speed. This will be the first Tales game I finish for sure.
