You never have to grind in Dragon Quest II. If you end up grinding, you're doing something wrong. It's only in the first game where you come to a point in game where there is no other option put to grind for a wile.

People seem to complain about Xenogears length. That the game was intended to be longer than two discs but due to budget constraints they had to shorten it. Thus, making the second disc almost all story and no gameplay. After all the reading in Planescape Torment the reading in Xenogears might be nothing compared to it

Well, yeah, but the quality of the writing is much better, too.

The problem with horror is that many people confuse horror for "it has to be scary", which is ridiculous. By all means, even the latest Resident Evil is a horror game. It has taken a turn for action, but it's still horror.

Personally, I don't see what the fuzz is about Resident Evil turning into an action series. As long as they're continuing the plotline that they have established over the past games, it makes perfect sense. The monsters were designed to be bio-organic weapons to be employed in warfare to begin with.

I feel bad for Sakuraba that he has to score these games.

I liked Recess till recently when I found out the woman who voice Spinelli was a regular on Californication who waxes buttholes and was doing coke and screwing the guy who sang 'Jesse's Girl' (Rick Springfield?).

Grim- I think we ALL had that "weeaboo/wapanese" phase of "everything Japanese is superior/ I wish I was Japanese" and all that nonsense.  I'm glad I grew out of that nonsense.

While it has it's share of awful tropes and whatnot, I'd say that in terms of animated TV series, Japanese content is superior. Mostly because there's more stuff than just "Saturday morning cartoon". I mean, can you imagine the likes of Death Note or Aoi Bungaku made in US? Hell, even TMNT, while pretty solid, has so much potential wasted because it has to sell it to the kiddies.

I think animation is just viewed down upon for some reason.
If you want to watch shows like Death Note and Aoi Bungaku, then just watch Death Note or Aoi Bungaku (or don't because they're both pretty mediocre).

Troll?

7  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Why games like The Wonderful 101 are a poor fit for the Gaming Press on: October 12, 2013, 06:09:10 PM
I think reviews of any entertainment can be quite interesting to read, it's just that the standards in video game reviewing are abysmal when as far as commercial websites go. "Cool graphics, awesome story wowowowowow" are pretty much it. No attempt at establishing a context, often little knowledge of the genre, how game mechanics really work etc. All it comes down to is just plain and simple opinions. It's the equivalent of high school argumentative essays.

A good review should be interesting for the reader, too.

Despite not having played the game, I recalled the gif floating aroun for Infinite Undiscovery. So I watched the actual scene on Youtube and I've been laughing non-stop since then. It's simply so atrociously bad it's hilarious. Hahah.

"DINNER DINNER DINNER"

hahahaha

I've never understood the hate that people trying to promote their game receive. He's not advertising a penis pump or an EA game, just a small RPG made by aspiring game makers from Cameroon (!!!!!!!!). I see no harm in this topic at all and I am actually delighted to know that the game making scene is becoming more and more international.

Thank you, I will make sure to never buy this game.

The hell's wrong with you?

King of Fighters 94 and Cave Story on hard mode (first time). Yes, rage runs deep in me. :P

Breaking Bad was godly. This series will go down in the annals of time, I swear.

Started Revengeance Mode in a moment of pure insanity. I've never successfully done the highest difficulty on any game that wasn't an RPG. Or even the first mission, but I don't bother all that much either. I'm surviving pretty damn well. Managed to parry/counter Blade Wolf into oblivion.. I never did that so fast on the lower difficulties...

Hard difficulty levels always make one a better player, and really bring out both the best aspects as well as flaws. That's why I exclusively play on Hard difficulty almost all the games, unless they're incredibly badly designed.

Richard Dawkins - The Blind Watchmaker.

I've never been a doubter in evolution, though there were (and are) many details that I was unaware pf. At any case, I will probably now have an easier time if I get into another argument with people who dismiss evolution.

:)

How did that game get a T rating?

It's not very violent and apparently, there's no nudity and the erotic content is just a bit naughty.
