The Rest / The Helper Monkey / Windows 7 Image backup tested......

Hello
Thought I would test that Image backup program that's on Windows 7 now. I have a NAS box so I backed up the Image on there, yes I know the NAS box is not a backup One thing, you need Win 7 professional to be able to backup to a network location, otherwise just do it on an external hard drive....
Anyway, I shut down and swapped out the hard drive with a new one, the same size, model, etc. that was in there. I had put in the boot disc, before I shut down, that I had made earlier from the Win 7 backup program. Powered back up and booted into the repair program, went through the sequence till I got to the part where you entered in the address to the network location. I just put in the NAS box address and it found the image just fine. Took off restoring and I was back up and running in about an hour. There isn't much on this computer for data, software, etc. so the times will vary for the restore I would imagine.
For years I've always wanted to be able to do this and finally its all coming together. I did try Norton Ghost but just couldn't make it work like I wanted, not sure if it was the software or me
So it does work just fine but would recommend you just do the image on an external drive, would make it easier yet....

Yes, that looks great, I'm also hoping that the battles won't get to complicated...as far as implementing your attacks. My wife's a little worried about that, as am I....I'm 51 and she's 49 so our reactions and button sequencing skills are a little slower these days:)

I too, have various games I've never finished. Quite a few of them I'll get right up close to the end and just get burnt out.....Yes they take alot of time, and I'm one of those guys that just had to do absolutely everything possible in the game....
One thing i've noted though, when I was playing RPG's on the SNES every single one that I played I finished, no problem... Its just that since then there has just been a glut of consoles, handhelds, games, re-releases, we just don't know which way to jump sometimes. We just have to have that console, that hand held, that game, pretty soon we're sitting in a sea of games....and burn out is more prevalent...
On a side note, whenever I use to finish an rpg on the SNES I would fire up the VHS and record the endings. Of course I can't find that old tape anymore:(

Thanks for the welcome, I've been coming here off and on for years...just don't particpate in the boards much. I was Sartori on here awhile back but for some reason I can't get logged on with that username anymore. It tries to send an reactivation e-mail but I never get one....No biggy..
Anyway, am looking forward to the latest release, been involved with the series since FFII on the SNES, which I'm still hooked on and will always be my favorite of them all...
I have had XIII preordered for both consoles for quite awhile. My wife is going to have a copy to play on the PSX3 on our 42" Panasonic and I'll have a copy to play on the 360 on a 26" Toshiba LCD....hmmm whats wrong with that picture:) Should be interesting to see how they both look...Supposedly if I have it preordered and selected overnight I will get it the morning of the 9th around 10:00. We both are going to call in sick that day:) Should be fun!!
Later....
Welcome aboard.
Not me but I'm guessing there will be something. Something like that amazing GoW3 special edition would be nice.
