451  The Rest / General Discussions / Australia hates Christmas! on: December 07, 2007, 09:48:24 AM
I could see his bad attitude not saying "ha ha ha" when requested to.

People seem offended by the very concept of christmas these days, my girlfriend worked at walmart last year and one of her co-workers was yelled at by a customer for having a christmas pin on, they actually stated it was offensive to them for an employee to be promoting christmas. I would have punched the guy in the throat but if I recall her co-worker laughed at the guy so it's almost the same thing.

I also had a guy yell at me at a previous workplace because we had a "holiday sale" and not a "christmas sale" I was going to point out the other 2 or 3 holidays that other people shop for around this time but he was gone before a rebuttal could take place.

First a grammy and next thing you know he'll be wearing parachute pants
453  Media / Brush and Quill / What book....? on: December 06, 2007, 12:04:00 AM
I'd like the series of books currently written by Steven Erikson turned into a movie(s). At 7 books currently with three more planned it would probably end up sucking since the books are massive and as far as fantasy fiction goes eclipses most other in terms of plot and scope; although the first book was originally written as a fantasy/comedy movie.

The Prince of Nothing series would actually turn into a movie pretty well although the sex is probably pretty graphic as far as movies go, but then again a bird with a man's head masturbating a man with a face composed of tenticles hasn't been done in western movies (I'll leave nothing outside the scope of the Japanese and their...inventiveness), so maybe it would somehow slide by :P

I wouldn't mind seeing The Belgariad turned into a movie, although I could go without any other series by David Eddings movized with the possible exception of the Elenium.

Beat Assassin's Creed today and despite the faults I had a good time with it. Redoing that first assination did not give me the achievement but oh well.

I'll be playing more crackdown I guess, I borrowed it from a friend and other than jumping around I can't say I enjoy it much. I'll be buying Gears of War soon I think.

I knew you could repeat chapters but I'm not sure if going back to replay a chapter counts towards the achievement or not. Might as well give it a shot as it's faster than redoing the whole game

I got a 360 with Assassin's Creed two weeks ago, I'm getting around to doing the last assassination. So far I'm liking the game pretty good, kinda pisses me off that I didn't do a couple of the sequences in the *so retardedly minor spoiler*

and I think there's one or two things that I would like to know that I missed. Also in the second assassination I didn't do everything before it so I can't get the acheivement to do everything before every assassination so even if I didn't want to I'll probably have to play through it again.

Also working on beating Cult of Personality on Expert in Guitar Hero 3, I can get to the last few seconds of the last solo but I'm just not quite there.

Playing WoW as well, just did some level 30 crap in thousand needles.
458  The Rest / The Helper Monkey / Zelda: Gamecube vs. Wii on: December 03, 2007, 12:13:10 AM
Well fine, widescreen :P Also, at the very least my gamecube doesn't support 480p as nintendo seen fit to remove anything other than good ol composite cable hookups from my model of gamecube.

wdescreen support/480p are pretty nifty if you have the tv to do it
460  The Rest / The Helper Monkey / How to get the best quality for the PS2 on my HDTV on: December 02, 2007, 11:54:06 PM
For the standard ps2, getting some component cables is a good idea too if you have any other inputs than HDMI, I have a 1080p TV and the ps2 looks pretty good through just that. Also for HDTV's getting it properly calibrated is a good idea too, although that costs money for a technician or a dvd to run you through some tests.

Raintime - Flies and Lies

And the band is not as pussy as their name is :P

EDIT: Just listening to this album the first time and found out there's a cover of Michael Jackson's Beat It, it's none too shabby
462  The Rest / General Discussions / This is the most disgusting thing you will ever hear of. on: December 01, 2007, 11:55:40 AM
The thought of farting through my penis is more then a little cringe-worthy. I can also imagine a few situations where that could get you into more then a little trouble with the ladyfolk. Let's hope that didn't happen to him and his wife.
463  Media / Single-Player RPGs / The Witcher on: December 01, 2007, 12:56:02 AM
I played the game a bit but it made my computer cry "old" it did seem pretty good though and I'll likely give it a shot with lowered graphics. The intro scene (not the cg, but the bit after) ran at like 3 fps
464  The Rest / General Discussions / So I just bought a DS... on: December 01, 2007, 12:44:35 AM
Trace Memory is pretty cool, I got it back when I first got a ds and I never got all that far because I bought other games but it was pretty fun and the puzzles were pretty neat.

Metroid is a bit iffy, I liked playing it but it really felt like it was lacking something, probably just from playing the gc prime's, Hunters just doesn't stand up very well.

Also, you didn't say much about rpgs but I'd just recommend a long stick to keep Lunar DS away from your home. I got suckered in by its pretty lights and pleasing scent, but it's not a fun time. In fact, it and Resident Evil DS are the only two video games I've ever sold.
