My first Tales game was Destiny on PSX.  Played it when it came out and it was pretty revolutionary at that time.  Battle system was awesome and unique, characters were great and the quest was rather long.  Then I played Destiny II (Eternia) and I thought it was even better than Destiny in all aspects of the game.  Then came Symphonia.  Again, great game but not a fan of the graphics.  After that, I played Phantasia on the GBA and did not like it due to the things Mickeymac already said before.  This version of the game hasn't aged well.  The battles were very slow to me, which, I thought, hinders the gameplay a lot.  Many years later, I played Legendia and was kinda surprised by it.  This games seems to be the black sheep of the series but I thought it was great, well at least half of it.  Awesome music and characters.  The main quest, which represent 50% of the game, is entertaining.  However, the characters quests which takes place after the main quest were rather long and boring with to much backtracking and uninteresting conversations.  Now I need to play Abyss, but I have other games I want to play before at home...

Okay, if you give me your address by PM I could go to the post office to have an estimate of how much it would cost for shipping from my place to yours. Maybe there won't be much of a difference.  But for Tales of Legendia only, it has to be less than $12 like I estimated before.

For only one game or for the two of them? For the two games, I don't know, maybe $12.  I think shipping is more expensive in Canada than in the USA.  Be sure that I would charge the actual cost for shipping however.  I'm not one of those ebay crooks.  But I'm going on vacation in Maine in June (on the 20th of June exactly).  So maybe I could send you the games when I'm there so you could save on shipping.  I'm sure you know a lot more than me about shipping within the USA, so tell me how much it could approximately cost to ship from Maine to New York, that is if you are interested of course.  I'll wait for your PM.  Thanks
23  The Rest / The Bazaar / Dragon Quest V & Tales of Legendia for sale on: May 23, 2011, 04:03:22 PM
Hi guys.  I'm selling  Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride ds for $20 and Tales of Legendia ps2 for $15.  These are the North American version and they are both complete and in great working condition.  I'm looking for Ys Chronicles and The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky if anyone's willing to trade.  I don't want the limited editions, so  you can keep the soundtrack and bonus stuff to yourself, but the games must come with the game box and instruction booklet.  By the way, shipping must be paid by buyer and I live in Canada.  Thanks!!!

Yes, Tale of the Forsaken Land is an awesome game.  However, I was really dissapointed by the final boss because he was way too easy.  Some enemies of the last level in the labyrinth are almost stronger than this boss.  But other than that, great game.

The thing is, I played the first Advance Wars after playing Black Hole Rising, Dual Strike and Days of Ruin.  So I thought it was a step backward, but that's pretty normal since its the first game in the series.

I wasn't impressed by FFT when it first came out on the PSX.  Never played the game since then.  I'm not a big fan of the class or job system and I have to agree with terrencelee about the combat system.

I'm a huge SRPG fan and I've been playing this kind of game since 1992 approximately.  So here's my list of SRPG I've completed since the beginning of my gaming life.

Personal favorites: Shining Force III, Dragon Force, Super Robot Taisen: OG 1 & 2, Vandal-Hearts, Shining Force II, Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes(not sure its a SRPG by definition, maybe puzzle, but whatever)

Good Ones: Shining Force, Warsong, Arc the Lad 1, 2 & Twilight of the Spirits, Brigandine, Front Mission 3, Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, Vanguard Bandits, Eternal Poison, Growlanser II, Advance Wars: Black Hole Rising, Dual Strike and Days of Ruin, Fire Emblem (the two GBA ones, Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn), Yggdra Union, Rondo of Swords, Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume, Jeanne D'Arc,

Average Ones: Blazing Heroes(or Mystaria), Final Fantasy Tactics, Kartia, Saiyuki: Journey West, Vandal-Hearts II, Arc the Lad III, Front Mission 4, Growlanser III and Heritage of War, Stella Deus, Suikoden Tactics, Advance Wars (the first), Disgaea DS, Front Mission: The First, Luminous Arc I & II, Fire Emblem DS, Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos, Spectral Souls: Resurrection of the Ethereal Empires

Bad Ones or Complete Trash: Eternal Eyes, Master of Monsters (PSX), Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth Remix

Keep in mind, this is only my opinion of each game.

It would be great to play another Wizardry game.  I  finished Wizardry: Tale of the Forsaken Land for the first time last month, and I have to admit that it was an awesome game.  I bought it for $5 in a local video game store.  Classic old school dungeon crawler with great music and a good story also by the way.
28  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Alundra and Arc the Lad coming to PSN on 10.12.2010 on: October 09, 2010, 05:29:26 PM
I live in Canada and I remember paying $149.99 for Arc the Lad Collection at EB Games when it came out.  Since I pre-ordered it, I received a watch with the collection.  It was the watch of the big guy  carrying strange boxes.  He also had of beard I think.   :(  I don't remember his name.  But I remember being very disappointed because I really wanted to have either Arc or Tosh on my watch.  But it doesn't matter anymore since I sold the watch.

Guts from Berserk. I know the 2 Berserk games might not be classified as RPG by some of you, but if you read the manga, you know what I mean.
