LMAO

Yeah, it is very ugly at the moment. But it will be changed back to the better tabard once we down Nef. Its like, the guild leader's constant reminder that we need to get our butts in gear.

I'm around tomorrow, actually. Define afternoon. PST? EST? Server time? I might be able to join you guys if you tell me exactly what timezone you're talking about :P

BTW, DR, how the hell do you already have so many alts? :P

John, what's your name on Shattered Hand? Let me know :)

I'll be on most of today and tomorrow. Though I'll be raiding from 6:30PM server time till...probably 3-4 hours afterwards. But before and after that, I'll be there too.

Thursday I have a class, but its the last of the semester and it should be a quick presentation and I'm about. That happens 6pm PST. So I have to leave the house at 4:45 to make it on time. And it should last about an hour tops. And from there, 2 weeks vacation! :P

Getting ganked is pretty bad, but the experience (when the ganker is closer to your level) teaches you a lot about your class and how to deal with other classes in open PvP. The rush is just intense later in the game.

You'll find yourself with a few lvl 60s hunting down other 60s and going to ogrimmar and picking fights.

I went and bought Invisible Ring and The Pillars of the World by Anne Bishop last Tuesday. I read her Black Jewels trilogy and just wanted more from that world. I finished Invisible Ring and I have to say, I just the world she's created. Great characters, great world and a very interesting look on magic and power. The balance between men and women.

I'll be starting The Pillars of the World soon, I just hope its as well fleshed out as the Black Jewels.

I can't believe guilds actually use that system. Its soooo flawed, moreso than most DKP systems out there. Seriously man, come over to Shattered Hand ;)

We use a fixed DKP price system with the person with the highest DKP giving the option to take it or pass. If they pass, it goes down the list until someone takes it or its DEd. If its not needed by anyone, it gets DEd. If people were passing because they didn't want to spend points, the person with the highest has to take it or someone volunteers to take it. We also sometimes make the person with the worse gear for that slot take it as an upgrade.

But overall, as long as people keep others in mind it works out great.
246  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / UMD Movies on: March 11, 2006, 06:52:06 AM
I'll have to agree with ya, John. The prices are far too high for the UMD format to truly be an option. You can easily buy a DVD player for less than a PSP and you can get DVDs for less than UMDs...so why get UMDs to begin with?

Not to mention, most UMD fail to have special features. Might not be a huge thing for some, but it is for me.

Another problem with UMDs at this moment is the library or lack there of. If sony wants the UMD movie market to be a success, they're gonna have to seriously rethink their plans.

Though, after all that, we can't forget that a new format is never cheap to produce which would explain why these movies are so expensive. DVDs get cheaper and cheaper because of huge companies buying in huge bulks as well. So the very reluctance of said companies will leave the UMD format at a high price. Ah, a cruel circle, indeed.

How did he pay less than you for both weapons? That really doesn't make sense at all.

And I mean...you could always play with us on Shattered Hand. So many have started over here that you could easily catch up and have some fun again.

Just a thought. :) You know I got your back, bro.
248  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / World of Warcraft OH MY GOD CURRENT EVENTS THREAD on: March 08, 2006, 08:09:29 AM
To be honest with ya, the economy on Shattered Hand is so perfect right now. Why? Because your gear at 25 means absolutely nothing since you'll replace it in a week. Your gear at 55? Far more important and since most people keep their twinks at 19-29, the items at levels 45-60 are relatively cheap. What does that mean? You can easily farm with your level 60 in Gnomeregan or Scarlet monestary and make good pocket.

I really don't see the point in buying all the best stuff at level 25 if you plan on leveling all the way.

As for accomplishments...

I'm 7/8 Nightslater now.
I have Bloodfang hood and belt.
I have onyxia Scale Pendent.
Cloak of the Shrouded Mist.
Claw of the Black Drake.
Vis'Kag.
Brutality Blade.
Strikers Mark.
Maelstrom and Heroism Cards.
And the set rings from ZG.
I'm 3 slots away from being geared in epics.

I'm looking to get the Nightslayer boots and the Bloodfang Boots. I'm pretty sure I'll get them next time they drop. I also want the Bloodfang Shoulders because they look sick on Night Elf females.

As for rings, I'm thinking Don Julio's and Quick Strike.

My guild is up to the last boss of AQ20, but best we've done is 19%. Haven't tried AQ40 yet because we want to finish BWL first. Only Nef to go.

Anyway, sounds like people are about ready to leave Shattered Hand, kinda makes me sad, but you play the game for fun and if you're not having fun on Shattered Hand, moving to another server only makes sense.

I actually have an alt warrior named Valanthe I'll be trying to level up. She's 23 atm...but my friend is out leveling me..so I might try to catch up to him. Think you guys can keep up? :P

Let me know, since I don't have to level with my friend at all since its his alt anyway.

Hmm...seems I missed ya.

Just send me an ingame Mail and I'll hook you up with some gold and bags :)

So many people joining Shattered Hand, so you should be able to get some groups together ;) And if you need help with instances and such, you know where to find me :P

252  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Favorite Anime on: March 02, 2006, 01:54:47 AM
I'd have to say Twelve Kingdoms. But so many others fall so close behind that its a very painful experience to nail it down to one specific anime. Chrno Crusade was amazing as was Scrapped Princess and Kenshin. Either way, I think Twelve Kingdoms pulled me in the most and I cared about the characters the most. I only wish there were more episodes since the books are so very long.
253  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / DDO WTF on: March 02, 2006, 01:51:04 AM
EQ2 might be have more depth, but its still very clunky at best. Its not quite that polished yet. Not to say that WoW isn't, but the controls on EQ2 is not very well thought out. The game is, however, worlds more beautiful than WoW, that goes without saying.

PSU isn't an MMO, so, that rules it out for what he wants since he speficied MMO in his post.

All in all, don't pick the game, pick the players. If you know people you like chilling with playing a certain MMOG, play that one because you'll have more fun playing it than a better MMO game by yourself. Its Massively Multiplayer for a reason.

As for D&DO...I played the beta for a little and its...the same ol same ol with D&DO lore and rules slapped on. Nothing that blew my mind away. But again, if you know people you like playing it, I'd say go for it. At the very least, its a common topic of interest to talk about with your friends.

Quote from: "Dade The Ass McLaren"
I finished watching Firefly so I went out and bought Serenity.

Joss Whedon.............

I love you.

That's what I'm talking about!

I rewatched Good Will Hunting a couple of days back. Still such a good movie. But now because of Dade, I think I'll go rewatch Firefly and Serenity for the ...I lost count.

Did you see the Serenity comics, Dade? You should check it out!
