1  Media / The Soundroom / Re: Video Game concerts ... are you into it? on: November 22, 2009, 10:33:24 PM
I guess I better make a decision soon, then.  Where are you in Florida?  I'm up in the panhandle, about 2 hours east of Pensacola.

I'm in Miami, I don't know if you remember me but when I was a regular here on the boards I used to live in Puerto Rico.  After graduating college i moved to Miami to work.

My plane leaves Miami at 9 am and i would arrive in Chicago at  11:30 am If there's no setback.

If you look at their facebook page they are doing a new rendition of Dancing Mad and are apparently gonna do a couple of songs from Final Fantasy XIV not just one. I can't wait.

I'm still debating on going to Chicago to the upcoming Distant Worlds concert on December 12th.  I've always wanted to go to a game music concert, and the opportunity is open to me now.  I have the money, but it's kind of a pricy just to listen to music since I have to buy tickets for the show, to fly out there via airline, and pay for the hotel room.  The other issue is that I don't know anyone in the Chicago area, and so I'd be twiddling my thumbs more or less until the concert starts.  I'd be paying a fair bit of money for just 2.5 hours of entertainment.

I'll be going to that concert on December 12. I'm flying in from Florida Saturday morning go to the concert and return Sunday Afternoon.  I'm going with my mom (I invited her since I didn't want to leave her alone in my apartment). So If your going let me know we can hang out or whatever.

If I'm not mistaken my two elder brothers already bought tickets for this concert, including a ticket for me (I hope).  Can't wait, I'll repost after I go and tell you guys how it went.

I'll be going to:

Wow great find Eusis I had heard of the title of this game but never actually seen it.  Definitely keeping tabs on this game and picking it up when it comes out.

Edit: Did more digging after I found that, apparently the game supports 3 man multilayer like Secret of Mana did for the SNES. Now I'm really excited. 2 Friends can enter your world and they are free to go anywhere in the game and are not constricted to your field of vision like Secret of Mana though.

Last three games I've finished have all been for the Nintendo DS. Those games were Front Mission, Final Fantasy III, and Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings. Currently playing Grandia III and Call of Duty 4 online on the PS3.

Since this board has never had an introduce yourself thread this is as good as any. Also after guessing my password for over 30 minutes I finally get to write this.

My name is Ruben Montalvo and I'm currently 24 years old.  I live in Guaynabo Puerto Rico.  I graduated collage in June 2007 from Electrical Engineering.  I still do not call myself an engineer even though I would be one by United States standards but not by Puerto Rican standards.  Engineering has two license exams in the United States these exams are not necessary and usually not taken by most graduates  in order to work, (at least the second exam) but they are necessary in Puerto Rico it is required by law.  So after taking a six month break from everything I'm currently studying for my first license exam which takes place on April 11, 2008.

During those 6 months after graduating I did absolutely nothing with my life except go out with my friends to drink and play playstation 3. I finally had enough of that so I'm currently studying every day for a minimum of 6 to 7 hours each day. While I study I'm throwing my resume around to different companies just in case anything drops my way and I get hired.
Talking about jobs on Tuesday I'm flying to the United States for a job Interview in the Baltimore area and coming back home on Thursday.

I also applied to Virginia Tech and the University of Michigan for my master's degree in electrical engineering starting in august in order to keep my options open.

As far as my hobbies are concerned I like to do many different things. I  like to go the gym at least 4 times a week and work out. I love to cook. I read fantasy and history books. I play a lot of pool, tennis and ping pong.       I also love to watch anime. While I go to the gym to lift weights I do cardio at home because doing cardio in the gym is boring. So I watch two episodes (22-24 minutes) of anime every day while I walk on a treadmill.

Finally I love to play videogames. You named it i've played it and finished it. Also I'm a very big sports fan. My favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys and I'm very sad they lost. Having said that I hate Tom Brady so I hope the Giants pull the upset on Sunday.

So thats about it. I'm currently looking for a job as an engineer and studying for my two license exams.

If anybody here is interested in applying for the Beta of Granado Espada here's the link:

I'm really excited about this game because you get to use 3 caracters at the same time.  Am for stuff like instances and stuff its a maximun of 4 people each controlling 3 caracters.  So you just need to find 3 people instead of 10, 25, 40 a la WoW.  Its already out in korea and japan no idea how its doing in those countries and its popularity.

10  The Rest / General Discussions / Iwata sets japanese prices for Virtual Console titles. on: June 08, 2006, 01:13:29 AM
1up Misinterpreted those prices. They forgot to mention that those prices will be for NEW games released on the virtual console.  The prices for the old games werent revelead.

At least thats what IGN says.
11  The Rest / General Discussions / *The* gamer-oriented question... on: May 25, 2006, 03:47:54 PM
I will never stop playing games.  When I was younger I had nothing better to do so I would play a game on a saturday for 15 hours.  Since know I am older and I have university/work/take care of my parets/ etc. I play less becuase I have more responsabilties in Life.  But I will always play games.  Doesnt Matter what time of game if its an RPG or Solitare its part of my life.

Suikoden 5 -

Finished the game with all 108 stars. Clocked over 78 hours.

This was one of the most wonderful experiences I have had in awhile. <3

Wow, 78 hours? Is the story really that long? I am enjoying every second of this game, and to know that I can get that much out of it makes me a very happy panda.

Speaking of which, I just finished my first naval battle.

If you dont go after the 108 stars are get caught up in all the mini games in the castle, the game clocks in around 30-40 hours. Took me 80 hours for the 108.
14  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Suikoden V on: March 31, 2006, 09:35:39 AM
Finally finished Suikoden 5 with the 108 Sod's. Took me around 80 hours. Dont remember exactly so am rounding off to 80 but around there. This game became my second favorite PS2 RPG after Suikoden 3.  It's just a feeling that I get when I played this games that I dont get with other games. Thats how I rate my games.  I dunno everything is just great about this game story, music, caracters, different choices you can make during the game, etc. Plus all the cool mini games in the castle. :P

Currently about 1/3 of the way through Suikoden V.

I'm about to go investigate the imposter bandit prince.

This game keeps raping my pocketbook, I don't have enough money to upgrade more than one character's equipment.

I found kinda weird way to make money. Its not quick but it works. For some reason the fishing mini game, when you are fishing instead of getting fish you get pots. These posts the good ones sell for 50k potch.   Also I decided to finish the game and restart it to get the 108 SoD.
