In the middle of chapter 9 of The Evil Within. The gameplay has been fairly enjoyable so far, but where is the story? It's almost non-existant! I'm just going from boss to boss killing things and nothing is happening. I understand why some of the reviews were not kind. There's really no incentive to keep playing if you are in it for story. I'll keep going since I'm almost 2/3 done, but I would like for something to happen soon.

What was the fix?

Thank you for asking - I hate when I search for something that is going wrong and find a post where someone else had the issue and their last reply is "nevermind I fixed it."

Sorry Tooks!

Damn it, if I had not already platinumed the PS3 version I would buy this, but I would feel like a fool for doing so. Being able to switch between the soundtracks would be amazing though. Shit, now I'm convincing myself I need this. It is my favorite game, but Square stop doing this to me already! I wouldn't replay it if I did buy it. It would just sit on my shelf looking pretty.

It will originally come up and say there's no load file to save to (because there's not unless you have saved previously and since this was a new record I had not) and it would stay on the screen for picking a file after the error message. I didn't realize you just had to keep clicking save after that and it will ask you to create a new save file. I would just exit the screen and click save in FFIV again and the same message would come up. It was really dumb and made me feel dumb for even asking lol.

After beating FFV earlier this week I've been on a 2D Final Fantasy kick. Replaying FFIV (this time the PSP collection version which is the only version I haven't played) and this one is by far my favorite. Looks so gorgeous and the world map 3D effect is amazing. I was never a big fan of the  graphics in the DS remake. I will say though that I had to pull out my PSP from the closet because they game looks blurry and dark on my Vita, whereas it looks fantastic on my PSP. I even messing with the filtering and color effects in the settings on my Vita and it still looked inferior. I also started up FFVI which I can play when I'm on break at work and whatnot on my iPhone. I know people said this version isn't the best, but I think it's pretty rad so far. I've only briefly played the game before so my opinion will obviously be different than those who played the other versions before. This is the only Final Fantasy I have never beat.

Never mind guys, finally figured it out.

Alright guys and gals, I'm getting frustrated and can't find the answers I need with a quick web search so I'm hoping you can help. I downloaded the FFIV Complete Collection to my Vita and was playing it and went to save and it keeps telling me it cannot save or load even though I have more than enough space to save a record. Do I need to create a virtual PSP memory card on here somehow or what? It just keeps coming up with error messages when I try to save.

Beat FFV. Spent 2 hours in the final dungeon and about an hour of that was perfecting my strategy to beat Neo Exdeath because he was pummeling me for awhile. Finally decided Freelancer was the way to go with everyone so that I could equip two abilities of my choosing and some ribbons. I lost his battle after having him down to one piece left twice because of status effects (zombie is a bitch) which was infuriating to say the least. I ended up putting the throw money ability on two people to hit every piece (who needs money when you are about to beat the game), had a healer with time mage to keep up haste because he is way too fast otherwise, and then had a person dedicating to summoning and white magic (bahamut hits everything and does the most of all my wide area attacks so that's why I did that, in addition to Phoenix hits everything and revives a character which is nuts). Once I figured all this out the battle was cake, but it took me dying about 5 times to figure everything out. The first part of the battle is really easy though so it didn't take long and the awesome automatic quick save feature on the IOS version made it to where if I died it took me right back to in front of Exdeath again. I did so well on the final battle that I got the achievement for not having a single character die in the final battle. I'm debating on whether or not to do the extra dungeon. I'm kinda over the game now, but I want to see the new jobs. Decisions...

In other news, I started The Evil Within. Hated the beginning of this game. No weapons, bad sneaking mechanics to where the chainsaw guy found me almost always, and the graphical performance is all over the place. Pop in everywhere, blurry textures, and weird presentation. Eventually when you get weapons in chapter 3 it gets better. Starting to enjoy it a little more, but this has been a little disappointing so far. I expect better from Shinji Mikami.

Played a decent amount of FFV over the weekend. Up to 25 hours, have all 12 legendary weapons and went through and got the summons (Leviathon, Odin, Syldra, Phoenix and Bahamut). None of the summon battles were hard at all. Bahamut didn't even damage any of my characters and only took 3 turns to kill. I'm level 42. Think that is good enough to tackle the final dungeon and beat the game?

Yeah, that's about right for starting up the endgame.

Btw, do you have all the magic (Black, White, Time and Blue all over), songs and summons?

I have all the white magic, black magic, and time magic. I didn't feel like messing with the blue magic. I'm missing one summon that was in the second world that I can't go back and get that was apparently in a random battle or something. Oh well, doesn't seem to be one of the best ones. As for songs, I have most but not all of them and I haven't looked into getting them all yet.

You can still randomly luck into getting Ramuh and Shoat in the final dungeon but its better to try for them in their respective worlds.

Blue Magic is awesome in this game. Especially Rippler + Lv. 5 Death/Lv. 4 Flare and Big Guard.

Other than the Piano Master one and Requiem, the songs are mostly just for completionist sake.

In short, you're good to go for the endgame.

Sweet. I started the final area and beat the first boss which wasn't too difficult. Going to try and finish this off tonight.

This news makes me sad. Like Dice and others have said, the combat systems they have made are amazing. Star Ocean 3 was my shit for over a year when it came out. I played through it multiple times. Heck, I even loved the underrated Radiata Stories. Like, LOVED it. Beat it multiple times too. Star Ocean 4 was probably my least favorite of their newer games of the past decade or so, but I still enjoyed it enough. Was really hoping for a cool PS4/XONE RPG from them.

Played some FFV on my iPad and iPhone (the cloud save between the two is fantastic!) this weekend and am up to 17 hours of playtime. Just finished Exdeath's castle. That battle with him took me like ten tries and messing around with different job combinations before I beat him. I literally had not struggled this whole time and he just hit me like a two ton truck. I was cursing and screaming for awhile because the battle is so much harder than everything else before it, but I finally figured it out and barely had to break a sweat. This is my first time getting this far in the game and I'm enjoying it alot. I assume I'm getting close to the end, but I could be wrong. I'm only level 30.

You're not there yet. You still have one more world left to go through.

As for speed bumps, I usually find the Crystals in the Living Forest to be the fight that tells me to get my act together for that portion of the game.

Really? I thought that crystal battle was really easy lol. I used the same job's and strategy I've been using for half the game haha.

I think that once he kills his main target, he's willing to be done, but they pull him back in and are like "we're not gonna let this go," so he has to kill the rest of them too.

That's what I thought too. They won't stop coming after him so he might as well kill them all.
