1921  Media / Single-Player RPGs / PS3 or Xbox 360? on: August 04, 2008, 12:41:26 PM
Oh come on, the VC has way more quality, and in vast quantities. Ocarina of Time, A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Starfox 64, Super Castlevania IV, ActRaiser, Phantasy Star series, Super Mario 64, Super Mario 1-3, Super Mario World, and a list that could go on forever. There's no denying it, the VC owns in terms of quality in quantity.

XBLA has more cool stuff on it than the Wii VC and PS3 PSN combined.

Cool stuff? What does that mean? In terms of good games, I would argue that the VC has the win by a landslide.

That cover of Eternal Poison/Poison Pink, whatever you want to call it,
reminds me of something from Castlevania...I'm intrigued.

EDIT: (Groan) It's an SRPG, with the gameplay in the vein of Stella Deus.
Otherwise, the setting seems like it's going to be purely medieval.

Hey, Stella Deus was pretty good I thought. Watched some gameplay. It goes into animation crap for attacks like Fire Emblem. Gonna turn those off for sure. I watch them in Fire Emblem because they have cool attack animations, but I wasn't impressed by the ones in that game.
1924  Media / Single-Player RPGs / PS3 or Xbox 360? on: August 03, 2008, 01:40:59 PM
It's hard to say which has the better quality RPG's because the PS3 doesn't have any huge RPG's out yet, but if you want quantity the 360 has lot more RPG's at this point than the PS3 does, it's just none of the JRPG's are spectacular. The best RPG of the generation so far in my opinion is Oblivion, and it's on both. Mass Effect is my second favorite and it's 360 exclusive. Both are western RPG's.

I watched quite a few movies this weekend.

Closer - Most anti-love movie ever. I thought it was pretty good.

Atonement - Amazing movie.

The Mummy - First time I've seen it. It was "ok", but I found it a little cheesy.

Inside Man - Often left me confused, but I thought it was alright.

I plan on watching The Mummy Returns later today, and possibly Rescue Dawn.

... While that has nothing to do with his point, that's still hilarious as hell.

Agreed! :)

I'm jumping on the bandwagon and saying card-based battle systems blow.

However, I may purchase an HDTV so that my PlayStation 3 is worth something to me...

Amen to that!

People still call MGS a niche series because its stealth.

Those people are idiots and should be ignored.

I completely agree with you, but I see people say its niche elsewhere alot these days.

Isn't the SMT series past the point of being a niche title?

The P3 Fes release proved that, if anything.

People still call MGS a niche series because its stealth. MGS4 has sold 2-3 million copies already. So no, SMT is not past that point, and probably never will.

The fact that this is still fantastic after twelve years just makes Mario Sunshine all the worse if you ask me. :P
