I think I can speak for Daggerstrike and Darkrider a little bit when I say:

Yes, we are cranky, yes we are assholes, but you're (that is...the royal YOU, not you specifically, terrencelee) are a moron for taking it so personally.

Why. So. Serious?

Cuz da intarwebz is serius biniss.

You guys always say not to take the forums seriously, but thats just not how some people are. I take everything seriously because I don't have time to play around. I find it pointless and stupid and I could be doing something meaningful with those precious minutes. Not to mention I think plenty of other people here like to take stuff seriously as well. Plus it is really hard to figure out when you are *actually* being serious or not. You can't convey emphasis and crap with text as well as you can talking to them in person. Not trying to be a loser here, but just speaking my mind.

I had no clue what this game was so I looked it up. It was developed by Camelot, so it can't be THAT bad (I love me some Camelot).

The only thing I have to say after that is: meh. I don't like the casting for Deadpool and they switched Striker. Because I was so disappointed by the last X-Men movie, this one is going to have to be the best movie ever for me to go so it in theaters.

The switched Striker from what? The other X-Men movie? Well, of course they did. This movie occurs quite a long time before any of the events in the other X-Men movies so they had to get someone younger.

This movie looks really good so far.

Oh come one, Wolverine looks the same, so would Striker. I liked the first Striker.

The thing about the story that grabbed me and kept me intrigued in DQ8 was
Code:
Why did the main protagonist not get dominated by the curse like everyone else? Is there something special about him? I also wanted to know what the king and his daughter really looked like. Not to mention I thought Yangus was hilarious

I don't think it is a BAD game, but I found Symphonia to be alot more enjoyable. The graphics, soundtrack, voice acting, and story I enjoyed more in Symphonia than Abyss. The only thing Abyss has that I thought was better was the improved battle system. Luke is one of the most annoying protagonists ever.

Ok I'm going to go against the grain here and say Tales of the Abyss isn't as good as people as saying. The graphics and load times are terrible and I thought the plot wasn't that great. Sure the battle system is decent, but Tales of Symphonia is superior in every other way. I had to force myself to finish Tales of the Abyss because I was sooo bored by the end of it. And it is definitely NOT the best RPG on the PS2 like some people are saying. It isn't even the best in it's series.

I haven't stepped foot in a movie theater in six years.  I can't say I've missed it.

That's insane. I could never do that.

Thanks for the suggestions.

In terms of DQ8, I've obviously seem the great reviews, but from what I've read the story is poor and cliche ridden. Plus, there is not much character development?

FFXII: I've actually played this one and enjoyed it immensely.

The characters in DQ8 were very entertaining for me and the story was actually pretty good. Its gets a little cliched at the end, but you aren't going to find many games with so much high quality oozing out of it that doesn't have at least a few cliches.
1932  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Choose me a game! on: July 26, 2008, 03:33:10 PM
For the large cities and turn-based combat, easily go with DQ8. That game is amazing. I'd also go with the Xenosaga series if you are looking for a good storyline and characters. If you want a good battle system, the Grandia series is always good for that. For the political storyline, you can't go wrong with Final Fantasy Tactics. Also, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic would be a great one for the things you mentioned.

I forgot to mention I'm an impatient person and can't wait months for movies to come out on DVD if I am truly interested in it.

It's not the HD and such I care about, its the amazing surround sound and huge screen that I could never buy myself. I just like seeing all my movies in theaters, even if owning them on blu-ray will give me a higher quality picture.
1935  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Movies and the economy on: July 25, 2008, 03:57:49 PM
I go to the movies when stuff I'm interested in comes out because I like experiencing them on the big screen. Watching Transformers on a regular TV just isn't the same experience. I've been to the theater about 10 or so times so far this year.
