The thing about the story that grabbed me and kept me intrigued in DQ8 was
Code:
Why did the main protagonist not get dominated by the curse like everyone else? Is there something special about him? I also wanted to know what the king and his daughter really looked like. Not to mention I thought Yangus was hilarious

I don't think it is a BAD game, but I found Symphonia to be alot more enjoyable. The graphics, soundtrack, voice acting, and story I enjoyed more in Symphonia than Abyss. The only thing Abyss has that I thought was better was the improved battle system. Luke is one of the most annoying protagonists ever.

Ok I'm going to go against the grain here and say Tales of the Abyss isn't as good as people as saying. The graphics and load times are terrible and I thought the plot wasn't that great. Sure the battle system is decent, but Tales of Symphonia is superior in every other way. I had to force myself to finish Tales of the Abyss because I was sooo bored by the end of it. And it is definitely NOT the best RPG on the PS2 like some people are saying. It isn't even the best in it's series.

I haven't stepped foot in a movie theater in six years.  I can't say I've missed it.

That's insane. I could never do that.

Thanks for the suggestions.

In terms of DQ8, I've obviously seem the great reviews, but from what I've read the story is poor and cliche ridden. Plus, there is not much character development?

FFXII: I've actually played this one and enjoyed it immensely.

The characters in DQ8 were very entertaining for me and the story was actually pretty good. Its gets a little cliched at the end, but you aren't going to find many games with so much high quality oozing out of it that doesn't have at least a few cliches.

For the large cities and turn-based combat, easily go with DQ8. That game is amazing. I'd also go with the Xenosaga series if you are looking for a good storyline and characters. If you want a good battle system, the Grandia series is always good for that. For the political storyline, you can't go wrong with Final Fantasy Tactics. Also, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic would be a great one for the things you mentioned.

I forgot to mention I'm an impatient person and can't wait months for movies to come out on DVD if I am truly interested in it.

It's not the HD and such I care about, its the amazing surround sound and huge screen that I could never buy myself. I just like seeing all my movies in theaters, even if owning them on blu-ray will give me a higher quality picture.

I go to the movies when stuff I'm interested in comes out because I like experiencing them on the big screen. Watching Transformers on a regular TV just isn't the same experience. I've been to the theater about 10 or so times so far this year.

I would want FFV remade over FFVI.

I know alot of people will say this, but Super Smash Bros. is my favorite. I've been playing it since the N64 days and am pretty good at it. I like the Soul Calibur series as well, and can't wait to play #4. Other than that, I used to play the older Mortal Kombat games but lost interest. Tried Dead or Alive and didn't like it, and only have played Tekken 3.

Yeah, this isn't a computer RPG...
1994  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / The Dark Knight on: July 22, 2008, 05:17:36 PM
Geez, I was just watching the evening news on my local channel and they had a thing on this movie. Parents are complaining that it is too dark, disturbing, and violent for kids. One of the kids that watched is said it bothered him quite a bit and the parent regretted taking them to the movie. Why do parents fail and not look into this stuff before they go see a movie? It isn't that hard...

Code:
The reason two face went after Gordon's family is because when Gordon came out of nowhere to save Batman and captured the Joker while Harvey was in the back of that police truck Gordon sent Harvey and Rachel back to the wherever they where going and it ended up that the people backstabbed Gordon who where in the cars and took them to the places where Rachel ended up dying. Dent felt it was Gordons fault for using people that he thought he could trust, when they ended up being on Jokers side.
