Rogue Galaxy got good reviews...

No one cares. But if you really want to use that angle it's their worst scoring game since Dark Cloud.

Which proves how good of a developer they are when people think an 83 on metacritic is low...

The battle system: This's how it should've been in FFXII; encounter enemies, and then hack n' slash at them with the "X" button, as opposed to waiting for some pithy pithe of a meter to re-charge, and then you strike; granted, there is some of that in this game too, but the wait times aren't as obscenely long as they were in FFXII.

Huh? The bar filled really quickly in XII if you had the settings all the way up. It was pretty much a constant stream of attacks for me.

I never gave Rogue Galaxy a shot. I've heard it's mediocre from just about everyone I know who has played it.

Definitely higher than other games people on these forums seem to adore *cough*LostOdyssey*cough*

Unlike the rest of these weirdos here I liked this game quite a bit. Level 5 is one of my favorite developers. I do disagree that FFXII should have had this battle system though. I loved FFXII's battle system.

So who's going to the midnight launch? I know I am.

Sadness is that payday is the day after the release...  And I need to try and track down the PS3 bundle, not just the game.  Looks like I'll be getting up way too early Friday to try and track one down.  And then go to work all night and not even be able to get to play anything till Midnight.  :P

Yeah I get paid every 2 weeks and was paid last week, so I just kept all my money for the game this week (getting the $90 special edition).

MGS3 -- Finished it.  Great game.  I don't feel like typing out a million paragraphs, so I'll just leave it at that.

Started Twin Snakes.  Pretty good compared to the first one.  I hate the Matrix cam during some scenes though.

That was the one of the complaints with the remake was that the cutscenes were changed a little too much for purists tastes. I haven't personally played the remake because I don't really think I need to, but I might sometime if I am out of games to play.

I don`t work the entire day. It`s just that I think MGS4`s release is a great time to take a break from work :P. That and I don`t like to play a game like MGS in 2-hour sessions. It`s five hours straight or bust for me. :P

I agree.
2197  Media / Single-Player RPGs / i'm usually not one to complain about rpg stories but.... on: June 09, 2008, 04:51:57 PM
I still have never beat the first Ratchet & Clank. I'm saved right in front of the final boss, have tried waaaaaayyy to many times, and have never beat him. I feel I still beat the game though because I got to the very end. I don't feel like going around for a few hours collecting bolts just to buy the ridiculously overpowerful one to beat it, just sounds like a waste of life.

That being said, I do enjoy hard games. I got great satisfaction out of beating DMC3 on the normal setting. Same with Ninja Gaiden.

We'll see how well Square Enix can use it when Last Remnant comes out. If that game has problems, then I see the issue. Otherwise, its the developers fault all the way, in my opinion.

Give it about a year, 360 users will have MGS4.

Kojima disagrees with you:

It`s a small codec conversation from MGS4 in which Otacon sort of takes a jab at the 360, but don`t worry - there are no spoilers of any kind in it.

That was FREAKING AWESOME.

And as for RPG's on the Wii, My Life as a King is a pretty good game and Radiant Dawn was awesome. I didn't like Super Paper Mario as much as the first two.

So?

Well... you said how could anyone consider the voice acting good, when most reviewers said it was...

But if we don't have exclusives, whats the point of the different systems?

Although it probably won't happen, what I'd like to see is the Microsoft representative to walk onto stage, say "Final.  Fantasy.  Thirteen" and then close the meeting. :)

How about no...

Wait, what? How could anyone consider the voice acting top notch? It didn't sound even remotely natural except in a few cases and I saw several instances where the intonation of the sentence didn't really match the meaning. And yes, I consider this an objective issue, because there's a certain way you have to talk for it to be... correct, and oblivion's VA's were definitely doing it wrong a lot. I mean like, not from an artistic standpoint, but from a... linguistic, grammatical, whatever... standpoint. People don't talk like that.

In Gamespots review they even said the voice acting was excellent.

I beat Mass Effect's "bring down the sky" DLC for the first time today (just downloaded it). I am in the middle of my second playthrough with the new game +. I'm lv. 50 and have all the spectre weapons (actually like 2-3 sets of them). The DLC took about an hour to an hour and a half, which is ok, but may not be worth the 500 MS points. You do get 50 achievement points for beating it and also get to pick between new armor (which looks freaking sweet and happens to be my best armor now).
