I'd like to take this time to remind everyone that having multiple accounts is not only not allowed, but also really fucking stupid.

Amen to that!

When it comes to pure game design, it's honestly really, really poor.  Even city builders like CivCity: Rome (which was poor) have better things in it.  That being said, Square has done /something/ as the game is highly addictive.  It's uneven, it's not particularly pretty (and it has framerate issues), and half of the content you have to buy... yet I can't stop playing it.  WTF.

Where were the framerate issues? Other than it occasionally doing it when I call on chime, I haven't seen it hitch at all. And I like the art style, and I think the graphics are certainly not any worse than your average Wii game, I just think too many people are used to HD gaming :P. That being said, it is definitely VERY addictive.

I've been dicking around with it a bit.  I like it a lot, but I'd be hard pressed to tell you why.  I actually have more negative things to say about it than positive (mainly that it's just so fucking repetitive, but it's pretty ugly too :P), but there's just something about it that keeps me playing.  I dare say it's the most fun I've had with the console in the three or so weeks I've had it.

Yeah, it's the most fun I've had with a single-player game on the Wii since Galaxy came out last year (I play Brawl strictly multi because the SE is freaking awful and I will never finish it). It's just addictive... I play it in hour or longer spurts and have to force myself to stop. You are right though, some of it is repetitive, but I didn't think the game was ugly :P.

Between this and DQIV SE's won my birthday money, though it's rare when they don't have something out before then.

Same here since my b-day is in September (although since I have a job I would have bought them myself anyway :P )

What's the other Squeenix RPG that's coming out for both platforms? For some reason, I thought IU was multi-platform.

That would be Last Remnant, which Square Enix said would be there first ever worldwide simultaneous release, so I assume they are going to either announce new info on that here soon via their website like this, or wait and show some stuff at E3.

Gosh dang it Square Enix is releasing DQIV on the same day as Star Wars: The Force Unleashed... guess I'll not be getting it day one (DQIV I mean) unless Force Unleashed ends up sucking...

Just watched Golden Compass and I really liked it. The story premise is cool even though they don't fully explain it. The atmosphere and visuals are amazing and I liked the cast. It also promises some killer sequels (if they get made since it bombed compared to industry expectations in the box office)
2199  The Rest / The Helper Monkey / LCD vs. Plasma on: May 18, 2008, 09:52:36 PM
I've been hearing that there are differences with the two different types of HD tv's when playing games (one of them can lag etc..) so I was wondering if anyone had any idea which one is better to play games on (i.e. PS3/360 with HD cables). I want to get a new tv sometime soon.

Yeah, I have been playing it as well and found it to be a little too slow at the start, but it definitely picks up. My review for the game will go up sometime this week (hopefully).

THANK YOU. I never got this game and regretted it, and went to see how much it was last month and the price was outrageous, but this price is freakin amazing... definitely buying that.
2202  Media / Miscellaneous Games / A Ghostbusters game? WE GOT OOOOOOOOOONE! on: May 17, 2008, 05:07:43 PM
Yeah it was announced awhile ago, and it didn't spark anything for me then, so it definitely doesn't now. I guess I've never went "man, I wish they would make a ghostbusters videogame, that would be sweet".

I loved PSO for the GC (played that game for at least 700 hours, and no that is not a typo), but when I got PSU I couldn't stand it. Everything was worse than PSO except for the graphics. I hope this one doesn't suck as much as PSU did because I have some friends that want to get this game and play multi-player.

"Infinite" is the new buzzword to put in RPGs apparently.

Infinite Line
Infinite Loop
Infinite Undiscovery

hope this trend stops.

I just found out that you can be a lesbian in Jade Empire. It even culminates into a kiss, though it's not quite shown (a straight one wouldn't be either).

Good job, Bioware.

There's also the girl on girl in Mass Effect.
