Super Mario RPG/PSIV/Every Game Ever isn't a big deal. You can play it on your computer using an emulator anyway.

But you can't own it on your computer!  Sarcasm aside, just how valuable are these types of downloads to people?  I mean you don't physically own the game, so collectors aren't really interested.  As Hidoshi here mentioned, those who want to play the game probably already have through other means.  So why download it on VC?  I could see if they added something or redid it in HD, but how does a direct port beat playing it on an emulator with frame skip and save state?

Because 1) Playing it on a tv is better imo, and 2) I'd much rather use the VC controller. I know you can plug in a 360 controller and other gamepads, but I prefer the VC controller.
2192  The Rest / General Discussions / 10 essential games on: June 23, 2008, 02:53:48 AM
Final Fantasy Tactics- One of the best stories ever in a video game with absolutely terrific gameplay and a fantastic soundtrack.

Resident Evil 4- Redifined third person action games and has been ripped off of way to many times already, even though the game is only 3-4 years old.

Metal Gear Solid- Made stealth action popular and relevant in 3-D.

Super Mario World- Mario dominates, and this gets my pick as the best of the platformers.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time- Sets the blueprint for 3-D action adventure done right.

Final Fantasy 7- Made RPG's popular and was truly a stunning game when it came out.

Super Metroid- same reason as Pat.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl- Absolutely the most fun I have ever had with 4 players.

Metal Gear Solid 4- Truly cinematic storytelling in a game with entertaining gameplay.

Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past- The best 2-D action adventure game ever and my favorite Zelda game.

I cannot remember how I got it myself, and I used Ellen in the swamp.

What the fuck? You resurrected a 6 month old thread to give no information at all. Way to go!

Simmer down now. There is no reason for ripping people apart like that. It's not like it ruined your life or anything.

Hit up Level 5 if you can (assuming they will be there). I want to know more stuff on White Knight Story because that game looks awesome. Also wouldn't mind knowing about the rumored Dark Cloud 3 thats supposedly for PS3.

You didn't play the first, did you?

The only things that didn't suck about that game were the graphics and the sound. When a S-RPG fails at basic gameplay, you know something's wrong. Don't even get me started on the plot and characters, because I may end up using words that you don't know, and I really don't want you wasting time looking their definitions up in a dictionary.

Are you kidding me?  You make a statement like you did, and when someone makes a (totally justified) sarcastic reply, this is where you go?  A comment that boils down to "yeah, well you're stupid?"

Let me teach you something important here.  People's feelings about games are HIGHLY subjective.  Sometimes, an individual will like a game that other people didn't like, and sometimes an individual will hate a game that other people liked.

FFTA's average rating is 87%, meaning that your opinion is actually the outlier, not the norm, but even if your opinion was the norm, disagreeing with it wouldn't mean that the other person is stupid.  It would just mean that they have a different taste in video games.  No matter how I've tried, I've never managed to love a GTA game, and a ton of people love those.  I'm not stupid, I just like different games than they do.

See how I did that?  I made a point without ad-hominem attacks.  I used big words and assumed you were smart enough to understand them.  Sure, I could have made a crack like "I bet you don't have many friends," but I just don't see how that improves my argument.

For the record, while I wouldn't call FFTA the best game I ever played, I really enjoyed it.  It's actually the game that convinced me to give FFT a second chance when the PSP port came out.  Yeah - I originally hated the game that's universally agreed to be the better one (dang translation problems), and liked the "worse" game enough to give it another shot.  As my review shows, I was glad that I did - FFT on PSP made me realize why everyone liked it so much.

Logical fallacies FTW! (ad-hominem)

MGS2 is my favorite installment in the series.  Yup, I'm a weird one. :P

Regardless of the epic cutscenes (I loved Xenosaga, so hey, this sounds right up my alley) I'll be picking up a PS3 + MGS4 in about two months, once I'm back in the States.

You're not alone! Well, sort of. MGS2 was my favorite until MGS4 came out.

Unfortunately, there is not. The same thing happened to me when I actually signed up for live (like 2 months after I had already owned the system). I could be missing something though, so maybe someone else found a way to do it (I tried over a year ago).

The first was one of the worst games I've ever played, so I'm less than excited for the second.

Must be wonderful playing only the greatest games ever made.

I actually loved FFTA. Sure, FFT is superior (but in my opinion that is quite possibly the best RPG of all time, so ANYTHING looks worse in comparison) but I still thought FFTA was great. I played it for well over 100 hours and loved every second of it. I'm sure the same will apply for this game.

So I looked up the demo on google and it says that the whole thing is in English, so why isn't it out in NA? Thats dumb...

The demo`s on the marketplace. Why no impressions here yet? :)
I`m currently in the process of downloading it.

Japanese or English? If it is Japanese then you know why. I also haven't seen any news about it being on the marketplace, which doesn't bode well for the marketing department.
