I didn't care much for the Hands of Time puzzles and had to use a certain website to solve them.

Still dicking around in Dragon Age: Inquisition. Got close to beating a dragon in the plains area, but ran out of potions and eventually, life.

Still dicking around in Dragon Age: Inquisition. I'm looking for shards so I can unlock doors in some tomb in the desert.

There are definitely other RPGs that do encounter systems better than the FF13 series.

Right now I'm juggling the Barsoom books and the Sixes Wild series by Tempe O'Kun (furry literature). Since the speech function on my iPad somewhat locked it up I've resorted to minimizing the text size so I can preview the text and take notes before reading each page, and it's still worked more than maxing the font, since that made it easy to get lost in a plot.

Could be due to the forum window taking up much more browser width than before, at least from my perspective.

I got close to the end of Metroid: Samus Returns and Tokyo Xanadu on my vacation, but fell a tad short of beating them. Samus Returns sort of gives too many regular missile upgrades, since I never ran out of them, and sometimes too few energy upgrades, but the difficulty is manageable if you track enemy patterns. I've been having a blast with Tokyo Xanadu, but don't care much for the story.

RPGFan: Site / RPGFan Articles and the Serial Misuse of Its/It's/Its'
« on: November 21, 2017, 12:52:46 PM »
I couldn't help but notice that the staffers of RPGFan seem to have a problem with regards to the use of the words it's and its, namely in this article:

http://www.rpgfan.com/news/2017/6957.html

"It's" is a contraction of "it is" and "its" is the possessive of "it."

It's probably my fault for not applying to the proofing job advertised a while back, but you can guarantee that if you ever open again, I will apply.

I'm a few hours into Dragon Age: Inquisition and have had fun just dicking around. I'll be on vacation from tomorrow until Tuesday, and I'll have Tokyo Xanadu on my Vita, which I've already logged plenty of time into, and Metroid: Samus Returns, which I haven't started yet, to keep me busy.

I've pretty much made it a point to avoid pre-Awakening Fire Emblems, since they're essentially masturbatory aids for masochists.

We get it. You don't enjoy challenging games.

It's not that I don't like challenging games, it's that I don't like games that are just artificially difficult like the Souls games. I guess I just don't care much for hard 3-D action games since you have to deal with additional shit absent from 2-D games like the camera. I liked Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, for one.

Yeah, I definitely don't like it when characters I like suffer and those I hate get away with being jerks.

Watched ID-0, which sort of reminded me of Avatar, and Neo Yokio, which was a bit poorly-acted but still a guilty pleasure.

I enjoyed HZD, but as with most Western RPGs it seems like they really didn't care with regards to the soundtrack.

A few hours into Dragon Age: Inquisition, and I've been having fun doing sidequests without actually advancing the main storyline.

Grinded a little in Grandia II Anniversary Edition, and will give the endgame another go.

I got to the second of the final boss battles in Grandia II, only to get my ass handed to me, but fortunately, I kept a save before the point of no return, so I can grind for levels and magic and skill points.

Yeah, Dragon Quest needs to fucking get rid of its archaic turn-based mechanics, like random turn order, or just flipping have a turn order meter.
