Yeah, I just barely made it past the battle with Mustadio (I think that's his name) with the single X-Potion I had, even a Hi-Potion wouldn't have protected him from the enemy's attack :/

I saved Boco finally, and I got a black chocobo in my party as well ^^

Beating the battle with the objective to rescue Boco has been an issue for me, in regards to chocobos, given my inability to reach the enemy that kills him to heal/save him in time (even though he could have easily healed himself), but I grinded a little and put movement-enhancing boots on all characters I'll use my next attempt alongside the Move+1 skill.

At least in the iOS version, it's not too hard to close the app, restart it, and reload your last save if you don't want to fight a random battle. Thus far I've only stuck to a single location when grinding since the enemies (except for the free-healing chocobos) aren't too cheap.

EDIT: Actually, you can quit to the title screen while setting up units. So yeah.

I played the PSVita version of Atelier Rorona Plus, and I definitely enjoyed it more than the original PS3 version, and actually was able to beat it instead of getting stuck with a Game Over if I failed to complete an objective in time.

My main issue with tactical RPGs is, if they're not friendly to you when you die in the vein of the Shining Force games, the potential to piss away a lot of time on a losing battle if you don't win. Balance is definitely a tricky thing to achieve, and even FFTactics has its own issues where random encounters (a lazy design choice in my opinion, I would have preferred supplemental leveling to be optional, with selectable difficulty as well, like Stella Deus, which, despite its flaws, is probably the prettiest tactical RPG I've ever played), can be much harder than story battles. Personally, I would have preferred FFT got a full remake that fixed its lazy design issues instead of just an updated rerelease.

I'm in the first chapter of War of the Lions on my iPad, and I'm surprisingly not as bothered as much by the irrevocable movement as before, but I still don't like how random encounters can actually be harder than story battles, and still very much favor Fire Emblem Awakening.

I hear they'll actually be following up on the movie's story in the game instead of rehashing it as has been common in prior KH titles, definitely a step in the right direction.

Yes, Rock Lois?
That was wonderful rock sex we had last rock night.

1. Dragon Quest
2. Final Fantasy (preferably Dawn of Souls version)
3. Kingdom Hearts
4. Diablo
5. Fire Emblem Awakening

I myself prefer Rocket Slime to the main Dragon Quests.

Square-Enix could just let other companies translate the unreleased games, but I'm sure they'd be too proud to do so.

So, the simultaneous 3D/2D feature on the 3DS version is apparently only limited to the introductory portion of the game. After that, you choose between which style you want, though you can switch between them on the fly.

I am totally cool with that.

That is a neat feature, and I'm glad that choosing one or the other won't lock you out of switching. Still, I like to see attack animations, so I'd probably have to opt for 3D. I know attack animations aren't really necessary; I just like them. Due to this, I'm still on board for the PS4 edition due to the HD 3D it offers.

Unless I'm mistaken, I think Ultima Online had a choice between 2D and 3D visuals...

I'm currently working on Eureka Seven and am enjoying it, even if the protagonist is somewhat asthmatic, annoying, and sounds like he's in the middle of puberty. I hate how they don't enforce the pronuniciation of "Eureka," which often comes out as "El-Rekka," and I heard one character say it as the traditional "Yoo-Ree-Kuh" instead of the classical and intended pronunciation "Ay-oo-reh-kah."

I like Dragon Quest, but I do hope they eventually ditch some of the archaic elements such as random turn order in battle and endless dialogue/confirmations when shopping and saving.

This image sums up my opinion of FFT:

That aside, I find the Fire Emblem series to be equally flawed, though I have been enjoying Awakening, even if I've had to grind a little.
