I'm a few hours in, playing as the Persona 3 cast, and I couldn't help but notice how godawful the voice acting is. Fuuka is still one of the most punchable characters ever in the history of RPGs, it makes no sense for actors with zero Asian ancestry to voice Japanese high school students, and the honorifics and the address by characters of the chosen protagonist as "leader" make the dialogue sound horribly unnatural. I would have rather they used actual Asians proficient in English to voice the characters or just leave the voicework in Japanese, in which case I wouldn't mind the honorifics since I do have some knowledge of the language.

As long as the gameplay is good, I don't mind how shitty the story is. Not that Persona 3 and 4 had bad stories, though, I appreciate more mature writing in RPGs.

The original Symphonia isn't that fucking perfect, either, and I thought its story was shit, ripping off films like The Empire Strikes Back and Soylent Green and other RPGs like Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy X. The cel-shaded graphics are overrated, too (and the PS3 version looked almost virtually identical to the GameCube version albeit with widescreen support), with all characters making the same fucking gestures over and over during dialogues and always looking happy even when they're not. Plus, they misuse "whom" in the fucking opening scene in voiced dialogue. Why voice actors today can't pick up on or question shit like that is beyond my comprehension. Personally, I thought the original Super Famicom version of Phantasia was the shittiest Tales game.

You a-holes are definitely free to express your dislike for various games, but don't fucking phrase it in a way that implies that everyone that likes a certain game is a complete idiot. Say instead, "I didn't like it" or "I didn't care much for it." Assholes like you are exactly what's wrong with debate in this world.

Sort of wondering how they'll handle the roguelike elements in the EO Mystery Dungeon game, the EO series in general being pseudo-roguelike in my opinion.

Beat Jude's story of Tales of Xillia. Will do Milla's next so that I get the most out of the first game's plot before I eventually buy and play its sequel.

Also working on the fan-translated version of the DS version of Saga 2, and I'm enjoying it thus far, finding it to be infinitely more playable than future games in the franchise.

Beat Dragon Quest II iOS in about ten hours. Was surprised at how good at the game I was. Also still working on Tales of Xillia but am somewhat lost in one of the dungeons.

Reread the Hunger Games Trilogy in preparation for the forthcoming Part I of Mockingjay. It's a good series, but considering that it took me between two to three hours to read the final book, even with my slowed reading pace, it brings to light my trepidation on why there needs to be two parts to the film version of the last book.

Edit: Finished the Wheel of Time books and was satisfied with the series despite believing it still could have been several books shorter. Next I'll tackle Brian Jacques' Redwall series again.

So I defeated the enemy in the basement of Midenhall Castle in Dragon Quest II iOS to try and get the Princess of Moonbrooke's most powerful weapon, only I didn't seem to get it since I had all my characters' inventories full, and unfortunately I can't fight the enemy again. I'm not going to restart the game just to get it, but missable crap like that really pisses me off.

I beat Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days and Disgaea 4 PSV today, and was impressed with both games.

Also still working on Tales of Xillia and Dragon Quest II iOS.

My problem typically isn't with scores, but rather the actual review content, with reviewers sometimes downplaying serious problems such as Demon's Souls completely inability to pause, or exaggerating trivial flaws. Furthermore, if reviewers like games I dislike and dislike games I enjoyed, then I cannot take them seriously as reviewers. I guess a problem with mainstream reviews is that each reflects one person's opinion. What I would like to see is reviews written by multiple persons, by at least one person who liked a game and one who disliked a game.

Finished the Wheel of Time books written solely by Robert Jordan, and will break from the series to reread the Hunger Games books in preparation for the release of Part One of Mockingjay. Generally liked the WoT books better than when I previously read them thanks in part to upping the font size on my Kindle App, but I still feel the series could have been several books shorter.

I beat Valkyria Chronicles 3 and the iOS version of Final Fantasy V today. Was generally impressed with both games.

Also working through Disgaea 4, where I'm in Episode 8; Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, where I'm around Day 190; and Tales of Xillia, where I'm a few hours in.

I hope we get this, with DQ not quite being dead in the West.
