Beat FF4: The After Years iOS this morning. Don't regret my purchase.

On the final Tale of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years iOS. Had to use a guide to find out where to go when I had access to the entire overworld, but I'm at the last dungeon now.

On Kain's Tale in FF4-2 iOS, and at the point where

Code:
Kain becomes a paladin-type dragoon.

Definitely the Kingdom Hearts games since they have a general kiddie feel at least in my opinion.

I definitely prefer the PSP version due to a better translation and more tolerable voicework, among other things.

On Edge's Tale in FFIV-2 iOS, working on another ninja's quest.

Read a bunch of books I got for free for my iPad's Kindle App thanks to BookBub by Claudy Conn, and am not a fan though there are occasional gems.

Plus a bunch of romance novels, part of the Destiny Bay series, by Helen Conrad, most of which were enjoyable.

And the Abolethic Sovereignty trilogy by Bruce R. Cordell, which was fairly enjoyable.

Reread the Inkheart trilogy by Cornelia Funke. Not a fan.

On Palom's Tale in FF4: The After Years iOS, and have been moving smoothly.

Beat Tales of Symphonia 2 PS3. Was generally satisfied with the game, though the localization was chock full of missing punctuation.

Finally beat Bravely Default. I didn't like the repeated boss fights late in the game and the difficulty spike with the final bosses (took me a few tries to beat the penultimate boss, although I beat the actual final boss my first try), and the story's a bit generic, but I was overall satisfied with the game.

I was surprised myself, and I didn't completely skip over the sidequests or Social Links. My playthrough with the PS2 version did take me 60-80 hours, though, but again, I don't know.

@Blace I beat Persona 4 Golden in around 25 hours so I'm not sure how longer you have and don't remember the specifics on when the game ends.

Bravely Default - I'm pretty much ready for this game to be over, having reached the final area, although the first boss slaughters me by making my party weak to all elements and massacring my party with Zeta Flare. I'll try to counter it by keeping the boss's Magic Attack power down with the Pirate's skills, and I've buffed up my party's magic defenses, got all the asterisks, explored the extra dungeon a little, and done most of the extra sidequests.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (iOS) - I'm an hour into Rydia's story, and I'm somewhat struggling due to a lack of healing magic, although two of the characters can randomly heal when they use their Band, and I have a few other helpful Bands as well that I've been leveling alongside my character's experience levels.

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (Tales of Symphonia Chronicles) - I'm near the end of Chapter 7 and I beat one of the bosses of the basement area of Altamira. Haven't needed to use my monsters often since I get characters from the first game in my party at most points.

Auction is over.

Finished all the Dirk Pitt novels, both by Clive Cussler only and by him and his son Dirk, most of them were hit-or-miss for me, and I think the best one was probably Dragon.

Now I'm working on the NUMA Files books.

I know Dragon Quest does the same with revival magic failing and it generally being difficult and expensive to revive deceased characters. Pretty much creates artificial difficulty, which I really don't like.
