Wait, the core is 25% crit? Isn't that like....max level aux core crit?

I'd like to chime in and agree with Alisha too. I think the brotrip and the man on man interactions felt more genuine in this game than in pretty much any other game I've ever played. The walking around and the dude shenanigans felt like something I could relate to. I wouldn't say it was about just playing as a guy, but the experience as a bunch of guys. In a lot of(hell I dare say all) games, the party banter always feel like it's really scripted and just meant to proceed plot or develop character background, but their travel banter was so much more alive. Maybe I appreciate it more as a guy with a lot of guy friends and we sort of act like this (minus the beating up robots and monsters) but it definitely was a huge plus for me.

Yeah, as someone who enjoys the Discord, I really miss these forums.

BTW, haps are I'm going to New York in a few days.  It's for my 8th anniversary.
Where in new york art thou heading? Maybe we catch up and have a drink?

Take the coffee and mustard and dump em both in the toilet.

Best use of both those things.

Mustard is terrible....

I'm saying that because I'm allergic to it, but it still sucks.

I was with that whole post til you got to mustard soup. The intelligent man in me knows you are referring to mustard greens or mustard seed, both maybe, and not the yellow condiment we slather on hotdogs....but the child in me (admittedly a very large child) imagines a soup made of gross mustard and I'm gagging.

I'd also agree with others here that they shouldn't have bothered with giving you the ability to move your characters around if they weren't going to do anything with it...but I still play around with it sometimes just for fun. I also wish that Pepping wasn't so RNG-based, so I can plan around it better, but it's not like there isn't some strategy to it.

You know you can keep Pep Up status indefinitely so long as you keep the Pepped Up Person on the bench right? It makes setting up Hallelujah! that much easier (although doing that requires locking down the MC, Erik and Jade for extended periods of time which kinda sucks).

The MC also gets a skill that lets him trigger Pep Up at any time you're willing to put down the MP for it, which is really useful since he's so indispensable to the majority of the Pep Powers.
You also can get an item that induces pep, and in the end game one that induces it for the full party. Honestly though, aside from the pep powers the pep up is pretty useless. It's pretty helpful to use it for electro light, hallelujah, and executioner before you get erik's crit hit, and one of the end game powers is pretty broken....except it can be disruptive waved....

I recall that big hulking knight who joins Justin's party always sounded like he had a stuffy nose.  I mean, wow.  Bad voice acting is one thing, but putting in a voice actor who clearly has a cold...
Hey don't you insult Gadwin!

Except I'll actually be playing those games...
Man I hate it when someone plays the same jrpg as me and we can talk shop about it.

I do miss the Discord, but work's been crazy so I had to step away from some of the more distracting distractions I had accumulated in my work routine.  The RPG Fan Discord was, BY FAR, the most distracting!  Ha ha!

I'll try popping my head back in someday soon, esp when DQXI and VC4 drop.
But you actually said you left when Octopath dropped to avoid spoilers. Wouldn't that logic apply to both of those games as well?

The Shenmue OST really is amazing.  I say that as someone who has never played Shenmue.
What REALLY bugs me about jrpgs is Arvis is STILL no back on discord to join in our legendary shenanigans. Hate when JRPGS do that.

I also liked how the Kingdom Hearts games had different battle music in each of their worlds.
KH2's Pirates of the Carribean world music will always hold a special place in my heart as a strangely awesome beatdown theme.

One thing in particular you really had to appreciate about skies of arcadia was that dynamic boss theme, how it changed based on situation. More rpgs should do that.
