I literally just yelled for joy at my computer screen. I was trying to prepare myself for the worst with the release date...but secretly was praying for the rumored November 26th date. Now that it's official, I can be crazy excited all over again!! :)

For me, it depends on how much artwork is used in the book and whether I liked the character designs to begin with.

THAAAANK you, I completely agree. I like in depth character bios with lots of pictures. Haha! :)

Single-Player RPGs / Re: RPGFan's Top 20 PSP Games
« on: October 18, 2013, 08:36:09 PM »
I've very happy with this list. It's all games I have played and really enjoyed. I would have put some games higher and other games lower, maybe. But all in all, a very solid list. A game that I was surprised didn't make it at all, was either Dissidia. Now...before I get in trouble, my biggest reason for thinking it could have made the list was this: even if the story was absolutely ridiculous and the gameplay could get somewhat confusing and frustrating. I can honestly say that I put SO MUCH DAMN TIME into those games. Which, in my mind, was an accomplishment.

That's all! Thank for reminding us of all the great games PSP had to offer! Here's hoping the Vita catches up soon! :)

I was given one for Christmas last year and I still haven't played it. Not because it's a bad gift, but there hasn't been anything substantial that has come out that I NEEDED to play....until Ys Memories of Celceta got announced. Now I'm waiting for that game because I probably would have bought it FOR that game. :)

Single-Player RPGs / Re: FFIV The After Years gets a 3D iOS remake!?
« on: September 19, 2013, 06:57:23 PM »
I'm just starting to lose ALL faith this Squeenix. ....maybe they're afraid to touch FF6. I was thinking about this earlier. To me, that's the game to end all games. Wonderful characters, excellent story, memorable villian. To remake that...and remake it terribly, would be a cardinal sin. But I don't know. I feel like anything they do to that game would be a step forward. I'll even handle just an update in sprites like they did with FF5 on the iOS.

But instead, we get a 3D The After Years in the style of the last 3D FF4. Which I was never terribly fond of. I loved the fact that it was one of favorite games in 3D, but that style was hard for me to get into. I grew up on the sprites. I feel like they had so much character and personality. So to use the artwork instead of the sprites in making it 3D kind of made me sad. Haha.

I've never in my life played a Phantasy Star because I always assumed they had a lot of online play, which I'm not fond of. I'm wondering if this new one will be a game I should look into. I'm always on the prowl for a new fun RPG. :)

I beat the CRAP out of the game just the other day. And all grips aside about the abrupt ending, I loved every second of it. I finished the extra dungeon and every sub event I could yesterday too. The gold mage knight was challenging, but I was able to kick his ass eventually. I have to say, Elize was a MONSTER during my play through!! I tried hard not to rely on her in boss battles, but I always ended up switching her into my party! It's probably because of her skill that she gets more experience when she heals. And during the harder battles, that's all she's doing. So for the The Gold Mage Knight, she gained like 4 levels. She was insane.

I'm looking forward to playing through Milla's side next, but I'm going to give a little while so I don't get TOO burnt out on these characters and this world before Xillia 2 comes out. :)

Thank GOD!! I beat the last one a little over a year ago and I'm STILL itching to play the next one. Which proves it's lasting power. I just worry that we may not see the end of the story. I don't know anything about the 2nd or the 3rd game, but I would think if it's a trilogy, the story doesn't end after the 2nd game. And if they are done after that game, then we may forever go wanting for that complete ending!

Either way, I'm thrilled. :)

I don't want to get TOO excited in case it's not what we're hoping. But the SECOND that gets announced(if it does), I'll be jumping for joy! It's a game that I didn't realize I wanted so bad until I learned that I probably couldn't have it. And the first was so much better than I first anticipated.

I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed. :)

I hate the shop system in this game. It's a wonderful idea that just does not work. Seems like every time I buy weapons/armor I earn enough points to level up the store and earn a discount on the equipment I just bought.

I'm having the same issue. I like it enough, because after every dungeon I feel awesome with how many materials I can give them and level up the shops....but I never have enough money for all of it! And I always end up spending all my money on weapons and have none left over for the new armor! Haha!

So yeah, Tales of Xillia will be in my hands tomorrow morning. I've already taken the time off work, the apartment is all clean and all my shopping is done. I'm ready to put about 15 hours into this game in the next day and half! Haha! :)

Almost any of the side quests in Shadow Hearts 2 or 3. That game had some very entertaining ones, like Joachim and the hundred battles tower. Always good fun. :)
