Single-Player RPGs / Re: FF12 HD - Zodiac Age

I couldn't care less about scantily clad bunny girls.  Give me attractive human women over animal/human hybrids one hundred percent of the time.  Also, I can't stand Fran's get up in Final Fantasy XII.  It seriously pisses me off.  She's a freaking sky pirate dressed as a stripper.  She should be wearing clothing more appropriate for her profession as well as providing better protection for her body.

She can wear that costume when entertaining Balthier behind closed doors.  Seriously, if the game had the option to wear different costumes for the characters, I would've found something more practical to wear for Vaan, Fran and Ashe.  None of their costumes are appropriate for adventuring and rebelling against powerful empires.

P.S. - On another note.  The moment I acquired the waitress outfit for Velvet in Tales of Berseria, I immediately switched.  She's an awesome character, but I fucking hate her canon costume with the fire of a thousand burning hypernovas.  It's fucking awful.  Yes, she's hot.  No you don't need to have her barely dressed in such awful rags.  Don't get me started on the DLC costumes that seemed to be aimed at showing as much skin as possible.  Keep it to the concept art.

P.P.S. - One final note.  I have absolutely nothing wrong with scantily clad female characters as long as they're not melee fighters.  If the character's concept that they're a ranged fighter (such as archer or mage) and aren't intended to be fighting at close range, then I am willing to forgive showing some skin.  If the character is a civilian NPC (whether major or minor), then they can show as much skin as they like or the developers can get away with.  If they're meant to be melee fighters who get into the thickest of the fighting, then they better be appropriately attired. Chris Lightfellow from Suikoden III is a decent example of what I'm referring to.  Both her costumes are appropriate for a warrior to wear.  Ultimecia's barely there costume from Dissidia Final Fantasy, however, offends me.  Seriously, if she were nude, I'd be less offended.  At least, then, the developers would be honest about their intentions.

P.P.P.S & TLDR - Sorry about the rant, but the comment about bunny girls set me off.  I'll try to be quieter next time.  Also, if you like bunny girls, I'm cool with that.

The announcement was: Sky Pirate's Den is returning.

I have a feeling that whatever the announcement is about will turn out to be underwhelming.

We have a winner! Give this man a cookie.
I'll take go for the traditional chocolate chip cookie.  As for the announcement.  *yawn*

That still doesn't change my opinion.  Yes the name is stupid.  But at the end of the day, the localization, as poor as it was did leave us with a coherent story.  It wasn't so bad that the localization interfered with my enjoyment of the game.  The biggest annoyance in my opinion were the interception and suppression missions which felt like chores.  No amount of localization can fix that.

There's no difficulty related trophies to get in Tales of Berseria.  The ones I'm missing to get the Plat are Shattered Soul, A Solid B, the level 200 trophy, the item collection trophy and the Tales Coin trophy.  None of these are difficulty specific.

I am definitely looking forward to it.  Especially if they build on what they did right with Tales of Berseria.  The game was seriously awesome.  Still need to finish getting my shiny platinum trophy, though.  I just hope the next game brings back the navigable world map, but sadly, I think that might be a thing of the past. ;_;

If the translation was this bad why didn't they just delay both versions instead of releasing the PS4 version early. I'm just thinking right now of saying alright you know i'm not going to wait until next year to play it i'm just going to start playing it I mean the translation isn't bad to the point where it's unplayable there's just alot of errors.
The translation isn't terrible.  It is mediocre, however.  Still, even with the poor localization, the story is mostly coherent.

Should you really be posting that analysis publicly?  In any case, I've never played an Assassin's Creed game.  This could be a good introduction to the series, but I don't know.

Thanks for the well wishes.  I actually visited her yesterday.  She seemed a bit bummed about being at the hospital.  She did recognize me when I arrived.  I don't think I would've handled her thinking me a stranger well if she saw me as such.  She is having issues with maintaining an appetite, but a hospital rep mentioned giving her medicine that should stimulate her appetite.

How powerful / old is your laptop?

I don't know if this is the appropriate thread, but I'll post here anyway.  So for the last few years, I've barely been playing video games (my occasional dalliances with PC games notwithstanding, and even then not consistently), I've gone back into playing.  Over the years, I've been buying Playstation 3 & 4 games that went unplayed.  No more.

Before I started playing again, the last console game I completed (in terms of story line, only) was Tales of Xillia.  I completed Jude's story and completed all of the major sidequests.  At the time, when I won trophies for the game, while I liked it, I didn't pay much attention to them.  Now that I'm playing again, I do find myself caring about the trophies.

When I gain one, I get a sense of accomplishment at doing so.  In any case, the reason for this spiel is because I netted my very first platinum trophy for Cosmic Star Heroine.  To be fair, it's not all that difficult to do so.  What pleases me about it, though is that this is the first time since playing Eternal Sonata that I earned all trophies / achievements for a given game, so I'm still flush with the sense of accomplishment.  Hopefully, it'll be the first of a handful of them.

On more personal issues, my maternal grandmother was recently hospitalized for a number of lingering health issues.  While her body is relatively healthy for her age, her mind is not.  She has Alzheimer's, which has been an emotionally draining experience on the part of my mother who's her primary caretaker.  So about a week ago, she was taken to the hospital (a different one from the ones she had been taken to previously) where it was discovered she had major issues with her liver.  This is on top of the fact that my grandmother can't really take care of herself due to her compromised mental state.

When I learned about it, I was not happy.  Clearly, the doctors in her previous visits were less than thorough as they never mentioned the fact that she has issues with her liver.  Still, on the plus side, her heart is healthy and she isn't in danger of suffering any kind of immediately fatal malady.  Soon she'll be released to a physical rehabilitation facility to build up her strength back up as she's declined quite a bit in her infirmity.  What has me hopeful is that the doctors believe with the therapy, her overall physical health will improve.

I'm also hoping that by being in an environment where she can interact with others, it'll slow her mental decline.  It could be wishful thinking on her part, but my mother has mentioned that since staying at the hospital, my grandmothers has shown an increased mental acuity.  Whether or not it'll last is an open question.  I think it's real and I think part of the reason is because she's been exposed to greater mental stimulus and it's forced her to be somewhat more alert.  Hopefully when the course of the therapy is complete, she'll a lot better and stronger.

She'll never again be the grandmother who helped raised and nurture me, but if she can get better, then I'll be happy as that means her twilight years will be a little bit brighter.

I'm not even going to qualify this video with an explanation.  Just watch it.  Don't worry, it's totally safe for work and everything.
This is awesome.  You win the internets for posting this and I'm not even a fan of metal (not that I dislike it or anything).  Where do you want me to ship your reward?

I have had a disturbing revelation.  I ordered food earlier this evening and ordered two Snapples with my meal.  When they arrived, they came in plastic bottles.  To say I was disturbed by this ominous development would be an understatement.  Their glass bottles were iconic.  I hate that they switched in order to save money. ;_; :_; ;_;

I've been watching a Twtich user by the name of OMGFloofy stream the game.  It looks really good in motion.  For a small time developer, Falcom has done a fine job making this game pretty.

On the one hand, I want this game since I never beat the original.  On the other hand, I don't know if it will be worth the expense.  If the price is right, I'll pick it up.
