If she's wearing a cape, then she won't be naked.

Congrats on becoming a very, very happy (but still paranoid) MonCapitan 2002!
I am still paranoid.

I lost interest in this game the moment it was mentioned that it announced as a first person game.  I dislike FP games on principle.  Sure, I'll give them a shot, but for the most part, I prefer gaming in the third person.

If Tales of Vesperia is indeed being re-released for the Playstation 4, I will be one very, very happy MonCapitan2002.

Not so fast.  We don't know if the PS 4 version will be released in the West.  I heard that Microsoft funded the localization of Tales of Vesperia.  If that is the case, we might only see the XBox One and PC version on our shores.  I am not yet happy.

Single-Player RPGs / Re: A JRPG About BOOBS!

Arent all jrpgs already about boobs

At the very least, every Tales Of game is required to designate at least one member of the party as "the boobs", as I like to call them. Luckily, whoever that is usually has a completely different personality to the others in the series.
Would that be Velvet in Tales of Berseria?  She was the bustiest of all the ladies in the game.

All this talk about Alundra and no one mentioned the stream? :(
As fond of my memories of that game, watching the stream has reminded me that the game has its technical issues as well.  The game, by today's standards isn't anywhere as playable as it was for its time.  One thing watching that stream does, though is make me miss Working Designs during their heyday.  Say what you will about Victor Ireland; but when it came to the games they localized, every effort was a labor of love.

I am looking forward to playing God of War.  Unfortunately, for me, I bought the game for my mother, so I have to wait until she's had her fun first.  Why didn't I buy it for myself instead?  I think the game looks great.  The more deliberate combat does have me concerned, but I think I'll be able to adjust to it.

I do think it would be great to have a really good fast paced hack and slash game.  The most recent installment to the Ys series has some really fast paced combat, but it isn't really combo heavy the way a true hack and slash game would be.  The thing with hack and slash games is that I could easily see them follow the games as a service model which seems all the rage with Western publishers.

Ideally the game would have a solid single player (or offline coop multiplayer) campaign.  Once you beat that, you can have competitive and cooperative online multiplayer modes.  Some can be player vs player direct competition and even arena style battles where teams of players try to take out the most enemies possible while racking up the best combos.  Such a mode can be scored based on number of kills, number of deaths, and highest combo.  If implemented well, you could easily have a game that would have players coming back for more for months.

This game is enjoyable, the town design is top-notch, and it's probably the closest I'm going to get to another Suikoden game, sadly.  On the other end, the story seems pretty shallow so far and I'm roflstomping everything in combat, but it does make for a nice, relaxing experience.

Also Arvis, I'm sorry that you're wrong, but Goldpaw has the best town theme. :P
I concede that the story is somewhat shallow, but the characters are well defined and entertaining, so I found myself caring about the narrative.  Even the villain gets some development, but I think his motivations could've been foreshadowed better.  Aside from those two issues, I do think that the story was a solid overall.  It was helped by the fact that I really dig the British vernacular interspersed throughout the game.

Also, I have to say I really like the boss music that you hear throughout the game.

Not necessarily.  I just finished Ni No Kuni II and it feels like a complete game regardless of the fact that there's DLC coming.

Single-Player RPGs / Re: Will any trails games be on NA ps4?

Isn't Trails of Cold Steel 3 confirmed for PS4 in NA?

To my knowledge, not yet. We know Falcom wants to bring it and other Trails games over, but a localization has not been formally announced.
And if we are lucky, the lack of any announcement means that XSeed has the license since they tend to not announce localiztions till they are close to being finished.
I am so looking forward to that announcement.

Probably.  To be honest, part of the reason I am passing on the game is because it's a half assed effort.  If you aren't going to bother with adding English voice acting and doing a barebones localization, why should I invest my time and money in this game.  It's clear someone at NISA decided this game isn't worth doing a proper and complete localization, so why should I play this game?

I should note that I am Setsuna didn't also didn't have its voiced dialogue redone in English.  While this was annoying, it was insignificant in terms of content.  It was literally just battle voices, so that isn't much of an issue.  However, according to a clip of the game's cut scenes I found on Youtube, there is a considerable amount of voice acting that NISA isn't redoing.  This seriously pisses me off as in this day and age, this amounts to half a job.  Fuck them!

If this game ends up in the bargain bin, I still won't touch it.  The only way I would ever consider playing this game is if it becomes a monthly freebie to Playstation Plus members.

One last thing, in spite of all my complaints about it, I don't have a problem with including the original Japanese audio so long as English voice work is also present.  I know a lot of fans prefer listening to the original language so making the original dialogue available makes sense.

Agreed on Goldpaw.  I also think Hydropolis is also particularly impressive.  I also like the Sky Pirates base.

I'm probably going to give this game a go around once I've dusted off Tales of Beseria and Whys VIII.
I have the game downloaded myself.  I plan to get into it once I clear my backlog.  My tentative plan is beat Ni No Kuni II and get the Plat.  Then play a shorter game, then tackle two of my back log games.

General Games / Re: Mega Man X Collections 1 & 2

The two discs for the physical release makes no fucking sense.  These games are tiny by modern standards.  Both collections should be able to fit on one disc.  It's a criminal waste of our limited resources to manufacture two discs for a collection that would be package together as one product.  Whoever the fuck is that signed off on this decision should be fired.

On that note, I think it's neat that the games are coming out for a new generation to enjoy.

I read that the story has Japanese audio.  Pass.  If I can't have English voice acting, I want none at all.
