Single-Player RPGs / Re: Your favourite powerful weapons

I tend not to pay attention to weapons and RPGs and don't particularly have a favorite.

By the way, MonCap, Star Trek isn't fucking dead, you ass. You obviously haven't fucking seen Discovery, and news reports indicate the Kelvin timeline is dead.

Beat Vesperia. I found out a few hours before I beat it that I could change the right analog stick function to cancel instead of confirm ally item use, so my end impression was somewhat positive. Wasn't great, but definitely a good game.

Still haven't made any more progress in Red Dead Redemption.

Close to the end of Vesperia on my Switch. Has sort of lost its luster, but it's still good.

Also started the original Red Dead Redemption, and I've enjoyed it thus far, though I've only played an hour.

I'd definitely be willing to play it again should it come to the Switch.

I tried Feudal Alloy on the Switch and thoroughly enjoyed it. One of my first favorite games of the year.

Working on Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition also on my Switch, and think it's great, but not wonderful. There was an error in the synopsis saying that a mansion was east of a city when in actuality it was west, so definite points off for that.

Slowly working on Grandia Xtreme and have mapped the water ruins all the way to what I think is the boss chamber.

Well, they ditched the limit on how many Sub Apps you could equip at a time, and make the save system less restrictive. If you're going to illogically argue that the original for some reason is superior to the rerelease, then fuck you.

I beat Strange Journey Redux and God of War (PS4) this week. The former sort of lost its luster towards the end, but is still an improvement over the original, and the latter was good as well, although mini-maps during fights with enemies would have been nice.

Now I'm working on Feudal Alloy on the Switch, which has been enjoyable, and I'm at the first actual boss fight (there were fixed gauntlet runs of enemies until this point).

I didn't care much for the first game since it felt unbalanced and repetitive, with a drawn-out endgame, so I'll be avoiding its sequel like the plague regardless of whatever critical bootlicking it gets. More reason I don't trust game reviewers.

Erred when I said I was at SMT: Strange Journey Redux's final dungeon. Now I think I'm at the actual one, and got upgraded unlock ability and am thus revisiting old areas (which is part of the current mission objectives).

God of War (PS4) - Just got to Helheim.

Grandia Xtreme - The boss of the fire ruins has been giving me a hard time, so I'm grinding in the area before it. I'll experiment with Mana Egg combinations to get better ones after I stock up on them during dungeon exploring.

I was playing Princess Crown on the PSP, but sort of gave up since a) I encountered a point of no return where I couldn't go back and grind and b) I wasn't enjoying the gameplay anyway since even despite being an action RPG, fights still seemed slower than even slow turn-based titles. It feels very unrefined compared to Vanillaware's efforts.

I'm still working on Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux, and it still hasn't lost steam, and I'm at what I think is the final dungeon.

I'm playing the PS4 God of War as well, and I've been having a decent time, though I found it a bit easy to get stuck at times.

I've also been replaying Grandia Xtreme, and I think the term "guilty pleasure" best describes the game.

Beat Timespinner. Definitely one of 2018's strongest releases. Ditto Ni no Kuni II.

Dedicated to Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux now, and the site's review is pretty much spot-on.

Still working on Ni no Kuni II, and have increased the difficulty a few times when facing enemies weaker than my characters. I have access to the seas now.

I also started Timespinner, and must give a shoutout to @divingfalcons for bringing attention to the game, which has definitely been an enjoyable Metroidvania.

I beat Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions. The last box definitely taxed my items since the final boss's patterns for somewhat hard to pick up, but I pulled through. I actually didn't think the story was all that funny, and that the Minion Quest's plotline was more enjoyable, even with its "failed" humor.

Beat God Eater Resurrection since my last post. The camera was still bad, but I actually figured out shields guarding against specific elements could make fights against giant Aragami more bearable, and in the end I had a positive opinion and would be willing to play its sequel.

I also finished Let's Go, Eevee!, and playing Pikachu! definitely prepared me for it, and I pretty much coasted through the game.

Picked Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions back up, and am playing through the main quest.

Started Ni no Kuni II, and damn, it's a pretty game.
