I would have preferred Sumia if they were going for an Awakening Pegasus Knight, but I suppose this is a fanservice game and Cordelia is way more popular.

So rumors are abound about the next set of reveals as KT hinted it will involve a Female Rider and a Male Archer.

My guess would have to be Midia and Warren.... :v

It'll probably be Hinoka and Takumi (because Camilla and Takumi is goddamn silly, I mean they're from 'separate' games (as much as the various parts of Fates could be considered 'separate')).
In my vision, I see that one of us is going to KO the other.

New description idea for the General Games forum:

"Talk about Fire Emblem and maybe some other stuff sometimes"

which is kind of ironic considering FE discussions would be fine in the RPG forum

Not that I care what gets discussed where, just find it amusing

And then it turned out to be all the royals (except for Sakura x Elise; no cute power, no cute justice, staff~staff~).

Huh, I'm sort of surprised that they don't have any staff users that beat people up using their staffs yet. Oh well so far my roster predictions were fairly accurate (although I did just mostly go with the safe choices). I wonder how many more characters are left to reveal at this point.

So has Nintendo or KT mentioned *anything* beyond the characters that's going to make this game particularly Fire Emblem-y the way DQ Heroes and Hyrule Warriors did?

They showed some stuff during E3 that looked particularly strategic...but I forgot the details...I don't play enough Warriors games to really know what's new and what's just "new" for the sake of manufactured marketing hype. :/

They're basically doing what took them Hyrule Warriors: Legends to do with being able to command ally troops (for example: sending Frederick or Lissa towards a hoard of Lance enemies or Cordelia towards a hallway of Swordies), and expanding upon it by pointing at a map instead of having to manually drive each one.

Beyond that, it's looking like Crossover Porn and not much else (its not even good Crossover Porn because Fates has bad characters that don't do much of anything for anybody; which currently leaves the Awakening peeps and Marth (and probably Tiki); if they included somebody like Gotoh, then this game would be worth something to an FE fan because they could do some serious crossing over with somebody like that; unfortunately Tiki kinda took over the role for Awakening which she isn't quite as good at due to her not being as much in the know of the stuff that hasn't already been covered in-series).

And hell, I'm not even sure Camilla has breast physics (and if a KT game doesn't have at least some kind of Gainaxing, then you know they're phoning it in (or making one of their Otome games)).

Either way, its still looking like a better FE game than TMS (though its unlikely at this point to be a better game than TMS, because unfortunately, the Persona formula is kinda strong, if pretty shallow).
In my vision, I see that one of us is going to KO the other.

That's kind of disappointing. Half of the Fates royals I actually like are Sakura and Elise.

Anyway, I wonder what they're going to do with the wyverns/pegasi. I hope there's some flying involved. I'm not asking for a Drakengard-style all-you-can-eat infantry BBQ, I just want to fly and have a reason to play with those characters I'm very 'meh' about.

They've mentioned that Fliers will end up having access to special paths exclusive to them in exchange for getting wrecked by Bows in general. The special paths though were a thing first seen in Samurai Warriors games for the Ninja characters.

One of the biggest problems right now is that there just isn't a whole lot of information about the game out there right now. Which in turn makes it sound like there really isn't a whole lot being brought to the table beyond the potential fan service (and they don't exactly have the strongest lineup out there for that kind of thing right now; they kinda need some heavy hitters to help expand the lore in a way that the main series hasn't done yet but yet also doesn't interfere with what's already established to really make a difference, and it looks like that it just isn't happening).

You could do that in HWL (and maybe also the Sanada SW game?). You could tell other characters you control to go to a specific square on the map, attack a specific character, or defend a specific square.

Did they get new actors for the Fates characters too? Really hating the inconsistency in the voice work with the localizations. It was bad enough they completely miscast characters like Hinoka, but they've done it multiple times with different people.

As annoying as some Japanese voices can be to me I always appreciate that they usually put a lot of effort into keeping the same people voicing the same characters pretty much forever.

I believe that some of the English voice cast is part of the voice actors' strike, so they had to go with new people.

Then I've got nothing because they seriously haven't talked about this game much.

Edit: Except to announce an NA release date of Oct. 20th and the availability of an ultra expensive CE.

At least the poster inside is tipping their hand somewhat in that there's definitely room for about 5 more Archanean participants, Male Corrin, and possibly 2 more Ylisse and Nohrshido characters.
