The official press release was released just today with nothing we don't know yet. Slated for this fall.
I love mechs and always keep up hope for any game sporting mech action to be good. Battlefield 2 has kept me entertained, but only when I play with friends, since that is usually the only way to play with a teamwork oriented squad that uses voice communication. So I hope this'll be even better with the futuristic setting. Still, it's the same engine, only a year after BF2, which still has glaring flaws. Another BF: Vietnam in the works?
Good thing it isn't the only futuristic shooter this year.

question from the uninformed (me): is BF2, vietnam and the other battlefield games linked in anyway other then name and fps style? i mean plot wise or somthing.

BF 2 is pretty much just multiplayer (no story), though the single player is just multi with bots.

Vietnam sucked.

There's no plot to the games.  They're straight up online squad shooters.  They're related in that they're all the same developer and have the same base engine.
