Oh god, I loved the first game. I'm going to have to beat the second one now, aren't I? I wonder what they'll do to it. I hope they fix that no customization problem.

And now I'll have to try Breath of Death VII and Cthulu Saves the World to see what Zeboyd's all about. I don't think words can say just how excited I am about the announcement of Episode 3.

Honestly, I can't believe it.  I'm attributing this more to Penny Arcade's awesomeness than Zeboyd... no offense to Zeboyd, but they are now the indie poster child, and Penny Arcade is a noble company.

Uhh, they just said that the battles would have a side view. Not that'll say how it'll ultimately play, but the implication there is completely wrong.

Damn, I didn't scroll down too far, I actually thought it wasn't caught just yet.

... Still, looking at 1up and RPGamer both just say side view combat, one of the two drawing the comparison to FFVI directly, as the sprite work indicates. I think that was all John was referring to.

I don't think anything is going to be fixed from the first two games, considering it's a new developer and -apparently- new engine.

I swear I'm not making up the following: I recently got a new laptop and was finally able to play PAA episodes 1 and 2, which I bought months ago, but was unable to play due to insanely crappy hardware.  I posted a review to move through our internal processes for posting the morning before this news broke.  :)  Had to go back and change some text where I talked about being sad that we'd never see any more of the story!

No vocal songs - we're still working on just a small budget. If the Rain-slick games do well, I'd like to do that for our next project though.

Edited your post (July not June), but we're excited.  Robert's a great guy and I'm honestly glad to see him succeeding like this.  Plus we'll be interviewing him at E3 next week, so keep your eyes out for that.
