Say, can anyone tell me just how many chapters there are?  I'm on episode 7, which says it's the final episode, but every walkthrough I see online talks about 10 chapters.

The game is mocking how Disgaea 3 had seven episodes for the main storyline. In other words, Disgaea 4 will keep dropping that joke on you until you make it to the true final episode.

Judging how much insanity ensues in each one of them makes you think the current episode is the final one.

Thanks, Chris. :)

Yeah, that freaking patch took hours to download in the end.  Forced me to be a grownup and take care of some laundry.

The thing I keep wondering is: how much do you have to play Disgaea to need DLC?  That game's got nearly infinite content out of the box...

My guess is pure fanservice.

Then again, ever since Nintendo gave that reasoning about DLC making a game feel incomplete, I'm starting to wonder if the Disgaea games are incomplete from the start.

Is it just me or is their a black fallen angel flonne that I don't know about? She keepa appearing in my item world runs and senate hearings. I approve of black flonne, moreso than archangel flonne. Plus, flonnezilla >>> flonzor x.

The black is one of her palette swaps. In the mystery rooms in the item world you have a chance of encountering the color changer.  She can swap the sprite colors of everyone.  Once you encounter her the first time she appears in your headquarters forever and can be used whenever you want.

Goddamn more item world running. I've easily spent twice as many hours in there as I have in the main game. I know alot of people claim disgaea is super awesome and full of content and all, but is the entire game just about item world or what? It's like the best played lie ever.

Ha, it can seem like that.  Yes, only about 1/3 of the grinding is actually level grinding.  In Disgaea 4 you can actually go from level 1 to 9999 in one battle, so levels are pretty much pointless beyond Reincarnation for the Character World and the aptitude bonuses you get on story characters for their first five reincarnations.

The rest of it is item level grinding.  I'm not sure if you've done so yet, but make a "runner."  This is a character with high move who can float, usually, and get past enemies who block the path. People like the Masked Heroes, I just use my Thief.  Don't bother killing everything on every floor and you can get through 100 floors of the item world relatively quickly.

This is how you know someone didn't get into the post-game meat: if they still complain about how much level grinding there is when they should be complaining about item grinding.

Disgaea 4 also introduced some obnoxious grinding for ship parts.  Have fun with the Kitty ship.

Yeah, i just wanna do all the story stuff and get all the characters honestly. Beyond that, lvl 9999 is a waste, lvl 300 items with some 300 statisticians and 16000 whatever else innocents are just not in my interest. I do wanna try to experience the land of carnage this time before I send this back, but based on what I read I have to do, that probably ain't gonna happen.

Just did a legendary fragarach item world run. My sword has a higher attack rating than my lvl 3000ish valvatorez. Fucking insane. Now if only I stole zetta's yoshitsuna....

Anyone know if Prism Rangers is a good class? I might get it if the class has interesting abilities.
