PS3 making my discs dirty

My ps3 is making stains on my discs when i put them in it. I think it has to do with dust or something. Does anyone know how i can clean it out.

Used one of those handvacs, now i need to find something to test it with. Eiither watch SP again or load up Demons Souls.

It doesnt scratch them they just get dirty anyways im almost to the first boss in DS and haven't had any problems. I think it worked thanks.


It's still doing it :( Has anyone else had this problem. I mean i can stop into gamestop and get something to clean my disc np, but i dont want to have to clean the damn things everytime i play it :(

Would getting some of the compressed air stuff and shooting it into the drive help or is that a bad idea?

Why don't you think about what you plan on doing for 5s?

I read that a Sony help desk person told someone that it's from humidity, and to try moving the PS3 to a cooler area.

You're getting errors/crashes too?  Or is it just dirtying your discs?

Yeah i kind of figured that was a bad idea. I actually haven't been thinking rationally lately been a little on edge for a while.

That actually makes sense. On my first playthrough of AT3 it ran fine. Then i moved my ps3 to the right side of my tv stand cause i thought it looked better over there.On my second playthrough the disc kept getting dirty and shit and the game froze. I'll try moving it back to where it was see if that works.

Also its just crashes in games and movies after the disc gets dirty. Nothing really beyond that. I'll try moving it back to where i had it in the first place. Thanks, this should hopefully help.

You beat AT3 already?  I'm still figuring out the battle system LOL... I'm terrible.

Not really sure, I'll try it moving it up to the second level of my stand should that fail to help. I got a bunch of CD-Rs ill just keep throwin em in and moving it till i see a difference i guess.

As for AT3 the basic flow of battles for me was hack at shit, purge, hack at more shit purge, repeat till your Heroine is in her underwear then use Ultra Supermoves and/or the heriones finisher whatever those are called. That got me pretty much all the battles even on Hard.

Actually Yoda's right. I took these a few weeks ago and it's still pretty much the same. I should be proud.
