Chie for best astral, followed by Mitsuru then Kanji.

Still kind of bummed there's no you-know-who(the killer) or Izanami.

For those watching videos from all the chances they get like myself, this guy has a youtube channel full of them.
The most recent ones are from P4U but there are a lot of BlazBlue as well.

They are all high level play so they are nothing short of impressive!

This game is looking more and more baws the more I see of it.  I really wish the console release date wasn't so far away.

Also rumors of a patch coming out to possibly address Chie and Mitsuru's dominance.  Apparently Chie has ToD combo(s).  Not sure about Mitsuru.

I wonder if it will be as good as KOFXIII because that alone would make me buy it. Though, right now I'm more interested in Dead or Alive 5.

It looks to be pretty good.  I prefer single character games over team (2s/3s) based games so I'm looking forward to this and Under Night Inverse.  There's a lot of high level play being uploaded to TheMidnightArena's channel on youtube if you're looking for that sort of thing.

Problem is with KoFXIII is not a ton of people will play it online due to its reputation for having bad netcode.  If you don't have local people to play against you're kind of fucked.  Shame considering it's a great game and pretty much the entire cast is viable.

KOFXIII keeps me entertained with it's trophies and all the stuff you can unlock by playing alone. I kinda grew up playing fighting by myself so playing online is not a big thing for me really.

Since the patch came out I've found consistent, smooth matches in KoFXIII. Just set up a player match with a 3+ latency requirement. It might take a while to find a match, but you should get a good one sooner or later. It also helps to have a good internet connection yourself.

As far as this game goes, I watch youtube vids of Japanese casuals, but I'm mostly waiting for August so I can finally play it.

Agreed.  There just isn't as many lobbies as there should be due to said reputation :(

Also check out Under Night In Birth.  Like a lot of animu games when they're first being made, it's suffering from a heavy overdose of Engrish, however it's being made by the same people who made Melty Blood so I think it has a lot of potential.

The DLC is... interesting.  The glasses/shades thing is dumb, but overall pretty much what I expected at first, at least.  Given its popularity in Japan, it's almost a given that we will eventually see a DLC character(s) similar to what they did for Blazblue.  Or at least, I hope so =P

I pre-ordered awhile ago.  Definitely can't wait.  Between this and Under Night In-Birth (or Inverse), I don't even care much about the Guilty Gear release.

Hope this hasn't been posted, but for those of you interested in reading more about the overall gameplay mechanics, there is an excellent forum post that gives a pretty good rundown of the gameplay and character mechanics:

http://mayonakamidnight.com/showthread.php?1030-P4A-Gameplay-Primer

Definitely looks like there's a lot of fun for both beginners and advanced players alike.  Some easy mechanics for casual fans to have fun with, but there's also advanced techniques for people who want to take their game further.  I have high hopes for this.
