There's no limited edition right? Only the soundtrack that comes as a pre-order bonus?

As far as I know, only the soundtrack and it's not limited to pre-order (as long as there are copies with them left like usual Atlus games)
I might wait and buy the game later at a lower price since I'm not that interested in the soundtrack (if it was an artbook, it would be a completely different story)

So is going to be exactly like KOFXIII then. Hm, I might get it with the soundtrack just for collection.

All depends if I have enough money at the time to go out and buy it anyway...

We can't really know that until we play it. Don't take other peoples word for it until you play it yourself. I get playable connections all the time in KOFXIII, but I honestly don't care much about online play since I'll be playing mostly offline, which is what you should be doing anyway if you're serious about getting better at a fighting game.

This is true, some people can tolerate input delay and/or lag better than others.

However, it is disheartening to hear about the lag (it's like playing underwater, they said) since it's coming from Japanese players.  Fast internet speeds and tightly-knit population means an incredibly low ping, yet it's still lagging badly on the 360.  If it's lagging for them, how is it going to be for our poverty internet?  The fact that it's only occurring on one console probably means it's a bug, but I'm not sure if I want to take the chance.

I don't really want to play it on the PS3 so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it quickly gets acknowledged and fixed.

The netcode was described as worse than KoF13 on the 360 version.  The PS3 version seems like it's on par with the latest Blazblue netcode.

This is kind of frightening since my PS3 is shot. Better have that patch ready to go on launch day.

Well, that currently sucks for the 360 users. Atlus is looking into the problem and will probably issue a patch at some point.

Meanwhile, I've given up playing games on the 360, so I'll be good. I'm waiting until the fall to pick it up, though. Just used up August's spare money.

Well, just in case they don't fix it, can't fix it, or take forever to fix it, i switched my preorder to ps3.  I think, by and large, PS3 will probably have the bigger playerbase with this game anyway.

I am so hype for this game! I can't wait. Combining my two favorite things: 2D fighting games+Persona=LOVE. Plus, Arcsys is one of my favorite fighting game companies and I was so happy to see that they were making this.

@Akanbe, you should add me PSN so we can play online when the time comes. I'll be in practice mode for a while before that happens, however. PSN is Faded_Sun.

I don't play many fighting games, but I bought BlazBlue Calamity Trigger for about 7 bucks...Its really fun, accessible too, but the arcade mode final boss is a superbitch. She blocks all my moves and counters half of everything I do...Persona 4 Arena is going to butcher me.

Haha check out score attack mode.  The final boss of score attack, Unlimited Ragna, is hard as fuck.  You can cheese your way to him, but it's much harder to cheese a win on him.  His Carnage Scissors can take 60-70% of your life and heal an obscene amount on him.  It's the only thing that kept me away from a 100%/Platinum in that game.

I hear that.  Really can't wait to play.  I'll add you next time I boot up my PS3, but it might be awhile as it's currently not hooked up and I'm unsure if I'll hook it up before P4U comes out.  Also, I'm sure I'll be in practice mode too for quite awhile before I play because I'm completely out of practice when it comes to anime fighting games.

Have to admit, I'm disappointed about the size of the soundtrack. Not up to snuff with the stuff they gave us for all their recent release/re-releases...
