It kinda looks like a PSP game and I'm wondering if those flash moves will make it too easy, but those are minor complaints. This game looks great and I'm totally stoked for it.

Ys has mostly been good to me, so I'll definitely be keeping my eye on this one.

It looks like the new Ys VII version of Ys IV.
Which is fine as Ys VII (verboseness aside) was a fine game.

I`m not exactly impressed with the visuals, but I`m still stoked for this! It`s a Falcom game and they (almost)never suck.
What I wouldn`t do for a Vita port of Xanadu Next! Falcom need to bring their best game to the platform where more people could appreciate it and Vita is a good match for it, I think. Zwei 2, Ys Origin and a proper port of Ys VI would be welcome too.

Come on, it's a port of an early 90s game, though I don't know whether touched up the visuals from the PC or SNES version or made them from scratch. Presumably they touched up one of the versions? I think it has a certain Suikoden V vibe that I kind of like.

"Touched up" is quite the understatement... And it already can't be a port because of the inclusion of extra characters in addition to Adol. It's a full blown remake, but it may not be that either because
Falcom never made their own version of Ys IV
. They're finally making their own version of Ys IV, which makes this a lot more exciting than the news of most remakes.
In regards to just the visuals though: They look barely better than PSP... which makes me wonder if this was originally a PSP game before they saw the Vita announcement and decided "fuck it, we'll just port our work up to that."

When I saw the trailer the graphics reminded me of Ys Online.
Also, the official site is up and running:
http://www.falcom.co.jp/ysc_psvita/
there isn't too much that we haven't seen.

I had no idea what the situation was, to be honest. I was just guessing.

Well, at the very least it should've been obvious that "touch up" doesn't really describe going from SNES to decent 3D visuals, describing it as a complete overhaul or at least side stepping would.
