Sad but true.
Read it guys, it's worth it.

I love multiplayer but it's true that I sometimes have a hard time keeping up with kids that have time to play it all day.
I can relate to everything else though.

It's weird, I'm too young for this to be relevent to me, yet too old to be insulted by it. So yeah, I'm, like, in a weird middle ground here...

Let's see:

- Hating multiplayer?  Yeah. I've got a bunch of reasons.  Stupid people, working out a schedule to play with friends, blah, blah.
- Games are too long?  Nah.  I put 40 hours into Fallout 3 before I even started working on the main quest outside of the original vault.
- Miss compelling storylines?  Nope.  Plenty of great storylines out there today.
- Think originality's dead?  Well, let's call it "chronically ill."  Any time a good, original game comes out, it's copied by a million others.  Always has been, always will be.  Same is true in all forms of entertainment, from movies to tv to books to music...
- Miss when games were about fun? Why would you play a game that's not fun?  How was Rock Band not all about fun?  What about Portal 2?

Whew.  Not too old - just antisocial. :)

Keep in mind that he shows both sides of the argument for every point. He conceides that games are still fun, you just see things differently when you're a kid, the point he's trying to make is that things lose their magic when you grow up and he realizes that when he watches his kids play.

I'm 2 out of five of them. I miss originality and think a lot of games are only about cashing in these days rather than fun.

I don't find anything that I dislike really (I disliked the article but I won't even bother to criticize that). Then again, I personally think that video games are better nowadays... is kinda hard to explain this in the Internet without a boring wall of letters that someone will break piece by piece though.

But yeah, I enjoy my hobby and I don't try to take it too seriously like others I've seen do.

I tend to think modern games are total shit.

I also think games were total shit back then, too.

I can understand that logic. But if you play video games with the mentality, well... is not healthy.

the title of this topic/article offends me greatly

A more nuanced response is probably in order.

*sigh* That article reminds me why I stopped reading at Cracked. Any point the author might make is pretty much immediately lost within the first section when you realize he has absolutely no idea about the very subject he's trying to speak about. I read the whole thing; only purpose it served is one more addition to the pile of proof for why some people shouldn't write certain articles. XP

Somehow I feel that you are not the target demographic of this article, ZeronHitaro.

Showed it to some of my friends and they all completely agreed with it as well.

I like multiplayer when appropriate.

I don't think games are too long in general.

I'm none of these things.
