Number Two's eyes narrowed and became what are known in the Shouting and Killing People trade as cold slits, the idea presumable being to give your opponent the impression that you have lost your glasses or are having difficulty keeping awake. Why this is frightening is an, as yet, unresolved problem.

Sylvari males don't have Nolan North doing his Nathan Drake voice, so I'm content.  Sylvari guardian ready for launch.  Playing with a gamepad is most excellent.

Does the game map itself well to a gamepad?

It does.  I'm using Pinnacle Game Profiler.  I've mapped my 360 controller like so:

Left Analog Stick = Movement
Right Analog Stick = Mouse Cursor (when right mouse button toggle is on, this functions as camera control)
Dpad Up = Profession Skill 1
Dpad Left = Profession Skill 2
Dpad Right = Profession Skill 3
Dpad Down = Profession Skill 4
A = Jump
X = Weapon Skill 1
Y = Weapon Skill 2
B = Weapon Skill 3
RB = Weapon Skill 4
RT = Weapon Skill 5
Start = Tab Targetting
Back = Map
Left Analog Button = Autorun
Right Analog Button = Hold Right Mouse Button Down Toggle On/Off
LB = Dodge
LT = Held down to access second set of button commands
LT + A = Interact/Loot
LT + X = Utility Skill 1
LT + Y = Utility Skill 2
LT + B = Utility Skill 3
LT + RB = Healing Skill
LT + RT = Elite Skill
LT + Start = Swap Weapon
LT + Left Analog Button = Sheath/Unsheathe

This is a work in progress, but it's what I have so far.  I'm going to make some adjustments but will probably have the file up for anyone interested sometime tomorrow morning.  Pinnacle Game Profiler is $25, but does have a fully-featured 30 day trial to see if it meets your needs.  I'll host the profile on my webspace and put the link here.

Got the gamepad configuration exactly how I want it for launch.  Your mileage may vary.

So beta is practically over, and that's it until release.  I'm curious as to what everyone is planning to start as.

I have to say that I really like most of the races in this game (except asura, fuck those creepy midgets), but I'll be starting out as a Norn mesmer.  Norn because I have a Viking fetish, and mesmer because I like the mechanics of it.  I pretty much had to relearn the class each beta weekend because it was tampered with so much each time, but I think they finally got it right this weekend.  Scepter/torch and staff for life. \m/

Engineer will follow shortly, because that is also awesome.  I'm just not sure whether it'll be as a charr (which admittedly makes more sense) or a sylvari.

Sylvari guardian.  More importantly though, we should probably pick a home server.  I was on Fort Aspenworth for the beta weekend.  NeoGAF and Something Awful are on Gate of Madness.

Normally I play human, but the sylvari remind me of how much I loved my sylvan in Dark Age. I'm starting as a sylvari elementalist. LIGHTNING WHIP ALL UP IN HURR.

Going to play a charr engineer when the game finally comes out.  I was having a hard time picking a class, but anytime I get to put down turrets and rock a flamethrower is awesome in my book.

I played on Jade Quarry this weekend because I spent a stupid amount of time there in my GW1 career.  But considering the color scheme of this website, a server name with a shade of green in it seems almost like fate. :P

Probably going to do Sylvari Necromancer.  Whichever server is fine.

Jade Quarry sounds like a plan.
