Neat article, my son has actually been writing a history of home gaming systems for a couple of years now, I think he's up to the late 80's now, eventually he'll (perhaps) finish, lol. but I'm proud of him, he's put a lot of work into it.

I find it interesting that the author thought Phantasy Star was released on the Genesis.

I stopped reading once I read that Phantasy Star was released on the Genesis. That's such a basic bit of information that even if I cared I wouldn't be able to bother or trust anything that came after it

I find it interesting that the author thought Phantasy Star was released on the Genesis.

lol. I was confused by that.  I figured they meant Phantasy Star II because people usually point to that one as one of the first RPGs to have an in-depth story.  When I realized they were talking about the first one, I was glad that it even got recognition as it usually gets glossed over.  Even if they got the facts screwed up. 

Overall, the article is kinda brief considering the subject.  Feels more like the cliff notes version.  But, I like that it's not another "Decline and Fall of the JRPG" article, or a "Things were better back in my day, you rotten kids!" article.

It DID get a Genesis port... In Japan, so it's still kinda crazy for an English article to say that.
