Heeeey, so there wasn't a thread about this and the game is out today.  Plus I can talk about it now!

If you're a fan of Snowblind's PS2 hack-and-slash titles (Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, Champions of Norrath), this is right up your alley.

I am a big fan of their games and I'm going to get this. Not sure when though. From the review it seems like a co-op blast.

i'm at part 17 in ch 1 and i'm enjoying it so far.

it's got a mild case of consolitis though... i hate when a-s-d make the character face the direction he's moving.  lots of awkward crap happens when you can't take a step backwards in the middle of a big group without doing a 180.

"Sir, they've reported was has broke out in the north!"

"WAR?  IN THE NORTH?!"

*snort* you gotta be there... obviously. =/

This game breaks my rule of no dwarves in the party right off the bat.

Dice you can be the dwarve, Akanbe will be the fem-elf

I'll be the other thing.

You can't talk about games at work? Is talking not permitted?

Yeah, talking about games is one day in the stocks.

Or, I just don't have anyone to talk about games with here...

I like the premise but I'm not too sure I'm too fond of the game talking place in the Tolkien universe but not centering around characters he created in his universe. I would much rather have seen a game based on some of the stories which took place in The Silmarillion, man I would love to play as Beren or Luthien and fight against Morgoth, now that would be interesting!

I personally found the Silmarillion and other Tolkien works outside the Lord of the Rings to be unreadable, but I wouldn't mind seeing game adaptations of said works.

I am LOVING this game so far. Granted we're only an hour and a half in and my opinion could change, but up to this point it's been a blast playing online with friends. I read Morgan Webb's review and wasn't expecting much, but I am not experiencing any of the glitches and problems she talked about. There was an update right away, so maybe that fixed them? Or maybe I haven't run into them yet, I dunno. It is a button masher, but it's one of those games where just kicking the crap out of everything with friends is awesome. I liked the voice acting too. It's not the best, but the voiceovers, sound effects, etc. really have the sound of the movies. The art in game is awesome too. Not overly detailed, but some of those panoramic shots are amazing. 8/10 for me. So far...
