It started like a day or two ago and they're unrelated to the sidebar ads. Any idea what's up?

We've noticed this too. We're currently working out how to resolve it. Will hopefully be fixed very soon.

Awesome, thanks for the update -- I was worried it was some malware issue on my end.

How's this investigation going? Because today the site is barely useable. Everytime I click on a new page, I have a 60% chance of being redirected by some shit magazine company to one of their sites 2 or 3 times before I can actually do anything else. At one point, I had to click back 6 times before it stopped redirecting me.

It's happening on a lot of forums and seems tied to the ads.

It's happening to staff as well... not that there's really any reason we'd be different.  Just to say we feel your pain.  I escalated the issue just now, so hopefully we'll see a resolution soon.

Some sort of ad blocker should help those who are having problems. I currently run Adblock on Firefox and have not had a single issue navigating the site this week. I know this type of suggestion doesn't win any favors with admins, but invasive ads shouldn't be tolerated by anyone.

I've just removed ads from the forums completely.  Please let me know if this is persisting.

That does seem to have resolved the problem for me.

That does seem to have resolved the problem for me.

Then there's only one culprit left...

North Korea

EDIT: I read "doesn't"...
