Kinda hard to take NASA seriously when they talk about 'planets'. They've already changed their mind about what counts as one once, despite it being qualified as one since time immemorial. *rolls eyes* Just give it a year until you see this article: NASA Decides New Planet is Really Slightly Overweight Dwarf.

...That happens to be how science works- you constantly rework your model to match reality. If you want eternal consistency (well...kind of), go read a theological text.

For the record, the reason Pluto was reclassified was because the term planet wasn't really scientifically defined until 2006. Before then it was actually a pretty loose term. They discovered a tenth body that was larger than Pluto, which prompted them to put their foot down on what should be classified as a planet and what shouldn't.

That's nice and logical but I ascribe to sentimentality over scientific reason in certain cases, this being one of them. Science has it's place and all but Pluto was sort of a sacred cow to a lot of people. So if there's one thing I'll do all the way til my grave it's give the individual who thought their balls were big enough to remove it some playful hell every chance I get. XD I think as a personal 'running joke' all my novels from here on out are going to take place in an alternate earth where someone time travel-assassinated the commission responsible.
