the same thing happened to me, when I got to him i had no nanopaste left and died many times. however
Code:
if you can manage to get him to about 150% health he will start throwing things at you and if you cut them succesffuly they drop a million healing nanopaste. so for me the only hard part was the beginning, after that you have so much health it's hard to lose

Late, but beat Sundowner.... Didnt bother with blade mode/hitting his shields at the exact angle. That shit's hard. I just dodged a fuckton because I am lightning blah blah blah.
Also I really like the desperado version of Raiden's body/armor.

Me too. I have basicallly been using it non-stop ever since I started my 2nd play of the game. As for me, I'm taking a bit of a break from it to play Pandora's Reflection (which came out the same day). will try revengence mode when I play it again. missing some VR missions and data collection things still too

Red fits Raiden... Especially if you like Jack. ;)
Been slow at this because new ME3 things, but I'll probably do a hard mode run after. We'll see if I ever get to Revengeance mode.

I'm going to buy this game just because of this song.
EDIT:
Uh, I guess it's a boss theme spoiler?

Having a good control over Blade mode is pretty important. Big part of the design of the battles with the bosses is to train you for the final boss. Shit gets pretty insane at that point.

she probably is but she's also the first boss (besides metal gear ray) so it should be that way. I think Sundowner gives her a run for her money though. he's such a complete joke if you abuse the evade slash and ignore the shields entirely. he's easier to hit than any other boss, even mistral, because he can't run away from you and you can hit him nearly constantly. he also gets staggered a lot. I feel like Platinum kinda dropped the ball on that boss fight because they clearly intend for you to destroy his shields but most people aren't doing that because it is easier if you don't. They should have made it so that you HAVE to destroy his shields imo
the difficulty of the game comes more from the normal enemies than the bosses though imo. Those Mastiffs (the gorilla things) are pretty sick. on very hard and up the sword grunts are really tough too because they abuse parry and have high atk/def

You don't count Blade Wolf as a boss? He'd have been a lot tougher if I didn't play him in the demo a bunch of times.
Yeah, if they made breaking Sundowner's more shields somewhat more necessary, I'd have bothered. It's the only time blade mode really annoyed me ever. Not like I didn't try - I did, at first - but I got tired of thinking I had it all lined up and, well, didn't. Other bosses were fine - dodging, parrying (for the most part etc).
Eh, the normal enemies were fine. The first Gekko and the first mastiff, etc. are always scary, but once you figure out how they work, I had little to no trouble with most of the regular enemies. Even when I had three Gekkos bearing down on me. But I also put WAY more b. points into the HF Blade than unique weapons for my first run.

I totally forgot about him lol. He's a boss for sure. I actually only used HF blade on my first run of the game and got a title "Samurai" for it. the boss weapons are all great though.
just got all the left hands. still missing 4 VR missions and I think 7 data storage...

Conplained to gamestops customer service about the massive wait, and they game me a 20 dollar coupon for my trouble. The lamp is pretty, and the soundtrack kicks ass.
