THere's a used copy of 999 at work ($35 x_X ).... wondering if I should splurge.  :D

I love the title for this game, but I thought the anime opening was worthless.

Everybody who I've heard played 999 says it's amazing.  $35's a little steep for a used copy... but maybe if you get an employee discount?

Getting a "Cube" vibe from that trailer. Can't say I'm blown away though, looks incredibly generic with all the regular anime elements in place. Maybe it would be more interesting if I understood Japanese, but I'm fairly sure that everything of value that was actually said can be summed up in once sentence while the rest was typical anime style varied repetition of the exact same thing. "What is happening, how did I get here, I am confused because I don't know how I got here, getting here in a way I don't know is the reason for my confusion therefore I am confused, oh look at them breasts"

$35 and then an employee discount is really as cheap as you'll ever pay for 999 unless you get it on a rare sale at Amazon or something. I paid 40 and it was still worth it, especially considering the damn thing was so hard to find to begin with.

Well, you just have to look at my avatar to know how much I can recommend this game! Seriously, this is probably one of the best 2-3 games I ever played. I hope the sequel will be as good as the original! I'm not convinced by those 3D sequences yet, even though I guess I'll get used to them when I'll actually play it... IF it comes here, that is, but I'm pretty confident in that...

Now that I think about it, I don't remember seeing a copy of 999 in one of the stores where I usually buy games from. Maybe I did see a copy of it but they had like one and maybe two on sale. Sometimes that happens. :/

Pretty much anything by smaller publishers like Aksys are a pain in the ass to find in stores. I had to hunt for it at many a west coast EB, many of them twice.
