Didn't see one of these here even though they're probably posted a lot. Picked the system with probably the most and rarest RPG's. Collections? Games people own? Go haha

PSOne RPGs are MY SHIT! I have a huge soft spot for PSOne RPGs.
Definitely my favorite era when it comes to JRPGs. Actually I guess it's probably most people's favorite JRPG era if it isn't SNES.
Much of my collection was sold in The Great Selling of a Couple Years Ago, which I kinda regret but made sense at the time.
Some of my favorite lesser-known ones (we all know the big ones):
Alundra 1 and 2 (2 wasn't as bad as people say. Okay it was kinda bad)
Azure Dreams
King's Field series
Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain
Jade Cocoon
Brigandine
Kartia
Koudelka
Vandal Hearts series
Shadow Madness
Thousand Arms
The Granstream Saga
Guardian's Crusade
Legend of Legaia

I had a million friends with PS1s that were always willing to lend me their system so I actually never really bought any PS1 RPGs. I used to own FF7-9 but I sold them to a friend for the hell of it because I was never going to play them again. I still own three PS1 games, Colony Wars, Bushido Blade 2 and Future Cop: LAPD and there is no reason to need more then that.

Most? Probably. Rarest? Fuck no, there's undoubtedly rarer on the PS1 and Super NES, and we're not even touching the less successful systems like TG16, Sega CD, and Sega Saturn that undoubtedly have some of the rarest (or at least most expensive) RPGs out there. The PS2 was a great time for JRPGs, and it's not just because of a strong library but because how so many of them are (relatively) easy to find and get compared to prior generations.
... I don't care to build a list right now. Lists have actually been frowned upon in the past, but mainly because they were getting a bit too common at one point, and didn't spark too much discussion. I don't think it's too bad in moderation though, especially if they can be interesting.

Beyond the Beyond
Alundra
Tales of destiny 1 and 2/eternia
Breath of Fire 3 and 4
Wild Arms 1 and 2
Star Ocean 2
Parasite Eve 1 and 2
Brave Fencer Musashi
Grandia
Legend of legaia
SaGa Frontier 1 and 2
Caatlevania SotN
Legend of Dragoon
Megaman Legends 1 and 2 (we all know these are rpgs, seriously)
Chrono Cross

Shame I sold most of the originals, even worse when I lost a bunch of em due to a storage unit fiasco. I'd list Ps2 rpgs but i think all the ones I have are already listed here.

You missed Valkyrie Profile, definitely a must-play and probably one of the better challengers of the list.
Takes of Eternia/Dest.2 is phenominal for an old school experience. Them hand drawn backgrounds are stunnin'.

Vandal Hearts people, it's basic, it's loads of fun and the sequel is horrible.
Lists? IDK, I'm sure everyone here has a pretty comprehensive list of rpg's, for me it's the saturn. But it's more interesting imho to hear what people payed or had to do to find some of the rarer ones. For me, the saturn jrpg's where easy since my mom was often in Japan. PAL psx titles on the other hand where generally a pain in the butt.
