Didn't want to do a thread about this but I would like to know your impressions about the demo and maybe if anyone buys the game talking about that too.
So the demo, I have to say that I am very disappointed by the excesive amount of QTEs but the part where you fight (if rather simple) is not bad. There is potential and this is afterall just the demo, but still, very disappointing so far.

I had no expectations going into playing the demo. If I played it through it'd be just to see how silly and over the top Japanese everything is. The gameplay I saw was pretty simple

QTE is a real killer. A few scripted parts in games is fine, I guess, but this leaves little actual playing.
I do love the outrageous-ness of it all. Maybe it's a buyer when it's stupid cheap.

In short: I wish I didn't have to mash buttons while watching this show. Seriously, put in a auto-play difficulty like Platinum Games have done and I'd want this at $20, maybe $30, because the QTEs can be annoying/pointless and the actual gameplay's too shallow and monotonous to enjoy.

The demo was really easy...even easier than what I remember playing before at PAX. Maybe they tuned down the difficulty to make it accessible or something, but it almost seemed like you couldn't fail. I certainly hope the actual game has some harder options...
I don't really mind QTEs, though. They're a big part of the game so if you hate them I guess that's that. Mainly they seem to serve as transitions between different gameplay types. It's nice to mix things up.

I definitely like the comparison to Bayonetta, except, she is the better title for having suave gameplay at your fingertips than just QTE-ing them. Ah well.

I saw my brother play this and it was basically QTE BATTLE: THE GAME
QTEs aren't necessarily bad it's just that if there are too many too often it gets annoying. Also, the game is trying too hard to be "EPIC"

I wanna see what the regular fights look like. I mean special boss stuff is special, but you'll spend 75% of the game beating up standard thugs. That's what I'd like to have tried. They could have taken a lesson from the ffxiii-2 demo.

That's true for most games but I'm not sure that's actually the case here. Hard to say without having played the full version, but this is a game that's all about epic boss fights and throwing together different styles of gameplay depending on the circumstances. I mean heck, the first level is basically a shmup (there was a complete video of it posted not too long ago). And the boss battles themselves are meaty and involved, with many different parts to them. The demo only showed pieces of a couple of boss fights, not the whole thing.
I wouldn't be surprised if you were fighting standard thugs less than 25% of the time...

Would that make it a bad or a great demo if it did?

I really hope the whole game isn't filled with those QTE's. That shit ruined Ninja Blade which could have been a solid game..
