*I say semi spoiler because I discuss characters within the second installment.

The newest Game Informer has an article about a six hour experience with the newest installment of the Mass Effect universe. He quickly mentions an encounter with the Illusive man and a figure next to him. The figure next to him is unknown and is not introduced. The Illusive Man tells Shepard that he is no longer necessary...

Now why would the Illusive Man no longer require the most powerful human in the galaxy? My theory is: A) A clone of Shepard is standing next to the Illusive Man. B) Shepard from ME2 is a clone of the original Shepard, and the original is standing next to the Illusive Man. C) they're both clones and the Illusive man is keeping the original to make the next storm trooper army a la Jango Fett.

Though the title still is a spoiler, potentially.

You beat me by a minute, Tooks. :) That title needed better rewording.

I have actually heard this theory recently, and oh man what a mindfuck that would be. Think about it - you had to totally recreate Shepard, his/her class, looks etc. in ME2. Part of me also doesn't want this to happen AT ALL. But think back to ME1 and the mission where you'd eventually find Admiral Kohaku dead, where there was talk of Cerberus creating a super soldier. What better than to rebuild (clone?) Shepard when s/he died? Oh man.

Oh totally! Yeah, it'd be a little messed, but completely viable, if a touch unoriginal. However, knowing the writers over there, it will definitely have its own unique spin.

I can't think of any other reason, aside from the scenario painted above, really, for such a reveal (or lack thereof, as it were). Guess we'll find out in due time, but a human army of Shepards would be pretty devastating.

If I had to face off against an army of clones of my Shepard, I'd probably quit out of fear. D:

I have the sneaking suspicion that there's going to be a conversation in ME3 that's going to sound eerily similar to the one in this video (between 0:28 - 0:36; additionally the rest of this video's content will also somehow resemble parts of ME3 as well).
