I'm done giving any fucks about XOver. The shit's worse than it looks and there's nothing to add beyond that point beyond more Crapcom stupidity.

Actually not sure with Capcom.

So I know I shouldn't post a newgrounds link but I just couldn't help but notice this.

Granted, its only the first stage but it's still pretty damming.

Even if the official game was freeware, it wouldn't be worth anyone's time and/or flashdisk space.

http://www.siliconera.com/2013/02/06/mega-man-xover-updated-with-pvp-battle-arena/

Amusingly and slowly but surely, Capcom is trying to turn this PoS into something resembling an actual game.

Not like it really matters to us at this point.

Meanwhile, its so bad for Megaman right now that even not-Megaman/US Prez can stay up in the air in Japan.

Then again, if Scrooge McDuck can be revisited, then not all hope has been lost yet.

Maverick Hunter: The Mega Man first-person shooter that could have been -- Source: Polygon

"In 2010, Capcom tapped the talent behind Metroid Prime to bring Mega Man into the modern age — only to have the game suffer the fate of similar recent attempts to find a new audience for the 8-bit hero."

You guys constantly make me come back to the thread with the "new post" sign only to greatly disappoint me after the page loads. :-|

The idea itself made me go "that sounds stupid", but for a game that only cooked 6 months I actually think that looks pretty good. I would've checked it out. Also, Metroid Prime developers get a stamp of approval.

It feels like an April Fools joke that forgot to be made in time for April Fools.

Still, with amount of clamoring for Retro Studios to handle Mega Man, its nothing short of amazing how close we actually got to that.

And also, add yet another casualty to the list of mega canned games.

While it just seems like Mega Man in a Metroid Prime universe, I definitely would have played that game. I think the footage looks great. Supposedly there's another Mega Man game in development right now. At least, that's what Capcom said at PAX.
