He's basically flipping everyone else the bird seeing as how smaller companies are relying on E-book sales for a myriad of things. From making a small profit to pay for editorial costs prior to a hard copy print from testing the market waters and seeing what needs revised and why (much like film screening to a test audience).
If people literally do nothing but pirate E-books all the 'little guys' in the market are going to tank nose first; leaving us with an elitist selection of books that only the 'best in the industry' think deserve to be published.
Keep in mind the 'best in the industry' all reside in New York and California; and these are the sub-cultures that thought 'The Naked Cowboy' and 'Michael Bay presents Transformers' were good ideas respectively. XP
