I can't escape Valentine's Day.

I had champagne poured, some ridiculous dance movie rented and buffered, and dinner cooking for when my wife got home. I honestly can not remember the last time I cooked anything. I absolutely despise cooking. But it was nice to see the wife so surprised and later relaxed.

She got me a bunch of peanut butter and chocolate candies from my absolute favorite local candy place that makes all its own stuff (http://www.govatoschocolates.com/). I am ashamed to say I ate the entire box.

I'm a little late on this, but for the first time in 8 years I had a date on Valentine's day. Felt great we spent the night talking getting to know each other we barely even touched on sexual stuff (yeah i know that doesn't sound like me lol) we just talked for a few hours. I had a lot of fun best time I've had in years. Waiting for her to finish some errands so we can play games and talk again today. Haven't been this happy in forever feels great :D

My V-Day was spent with friends seeing The Vow. Not my type of movie... but not as bad as I thought it'd be.

I also got chocolate covered strawberries and a rose from work.

Valentine's day is possibly my favorite holiday these days, and I like to go all out. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to as much since I've had so much going on.

Still, I made a wonderful French Onion Soup, a tried-and-true Brie and Leak bread dip (which I discovered and made last valentines day), got some nice flowers (for my table, because my girlfriend thinks I need more flowers and a vase, so it made her happy). And I ordered her an awesome-cuddly sweater-dress which she's really liking. We rented "A Knight's Tale", since we'd both never seen it before, and heard it had awesome music (it did). At first she wanted to rent "300" but I didn't think it was romantic enough. We'll watch that on, "bash your enemy's head in" day. I usually have more time to prepare, but I just had to stay up late the night before cooking. Didn't do my usual Chocolate-Dipped Strawberry bouquet (use shishkabab skewers on strawberries and dip them in chocolate), but I'd done that for the past few years.

I'd say Valentine's day was a success this year.

PM, that sounds delicious, and only reminds me that I need to learn more non-Asian cooking; I learned from the 'rents, so the cooking I did on V-Day was all traditional Chinese dishes, haha.

I generally dislike V-Day, though, for how commercialized it is, but I'm not opposed to celebrating it.
