Honestly, the American flag waving in the background of each image I've seen is what sold me.

Ya know, this makes perfect sense. We all know that at some point, we're going to get to play as Desmond in the real world (at least, I've been crossing my fingers). Seeing as though Desmond is American, it makes sense for him to be played in his natural environment. Setting the ancestor in the same location can make for some INSANE gameplay and plot points. At this point they could build him a portable device that would let him look back and forth to the past. You could switch between time periods, sorta like in the movie Deja Vu. I just think that would be insanely cool.
I've really been interested in how the Assassins Creed franchise would handle modern day parkour. Mirror's Edge looked great, but I didn't get it because I heard the controls and gameplay were terrible. Climbing modern skyscrapers would be fucking amazing.

I highly doubt ubisoft us gonna conclude the tale in the cash cow this game is. I'm sure they'll find some way to tell the tale of everybody's favorite historical war zone.

I was at best buy today and saw them. Case looks awesome.
There's a rumor this game might be co-op. If so... PS3 all the way.
If not then 360.

They better not have everyone speaking in modern British english, like a lot of stupid movies. Modern American english is actually closer to 1700s British, then modern British is. It's a little known linguistic commonality that language tends to change more rapidly in an origin country then in offshoot colonies. Therefor, America has preserved english a bit better than Britain has. It's certainly not the same, though, American english has changed quite substantially as well.
It's just ridiculous when you have a revolutionary war movie in which everyone is speaking like they're from modern-day london.

That's what people have been trained to expect. They would complain if it was anything else.

I always thought Ridley Scott's Gladiator would have been better in American-Italian myself.
