I'm guessing this tech demo is more-or-less related to their next game.
Impressive presentation I say, the whole thing tugged my heart a bit.

After Heavy Rain, I can't wait till their next game. I was playing Heavy Rain once and my mom thought I was watching a movie.

Heavy Rain is the only game my wife ever asked me to play so she could see what happens next.

Amazing stuff, but I thought they said it's not related to anything they're working on...sadly.

Well, I guess they were right when they said that Heavy Rain would catch the attention of women for it's aesthetics and drama.
The ironic thing with Heavy Rain is that it was released almost at the same time that Deadly Premonition did, and it started quite the discussion of what game was better for one game that promises a rich experience to the other one that looked like a Dreamcast game. In the end, Heavy Rain was just a successful experiment that generated a bunch of conflicted opinions and Deadly Premonition become a cult classic.
Either way, I do wonder if Quantic Dream has the ability to do an entire game as good as that tech demo though.

I don't think so... not 100%.
It's kinda of like a music video. I find some of the effects you see in them better than in the movies; but at least resources are optimized for a good 3-4 minutes than an entire 2 hours. Same for a game, there's a lot to do, this tech demo focused only on one human-bot, machines, and some impressive movements and lighting.
We do know they are good though. :)

I felt for Kara, and the array of emotions is amazing. Very life-like.
For some reason this reminded me of Moon, one of my favorite flix.

Yoda: Why does she look like that chik from Heavy Rain.
I like your heart to heart with it now though. >=/

The example I always give is that I think the best thing Michael Bay ever directed was that Meat Loaf music video for "I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)"

It feels weird, having grown up w/ a MTV that played you know... fucking music.
I lurved watching it in the morning before school when I was a kid. That moth in bjork's human behavior freaked me.

Well, as long as its story is better than Heavy Rain's was. I liked Ethan's personal story but the overall narrative was just terrible.

I am looking forward to the massively ridiculous twist in their next game.

It was a bit wooden at times, but you'd never see me complain if it was made into a movie.
(I personally liked Norman Jayden the most... but I thought the game effectively made each of the four interesting on some perspective).

I for one will never understand the hating on Heavy Rain's narrative versus the fawning over Mass Effect's narrative. Then again I haven't finished ME3 - maybe it ties up some of the laughably absurd plot holes in ME2. Heavy Rain certainly had its share but for some reason one gets crushed regularly while the other one gets completely off the hook.

I enjoyed Heavy Rain enough, but it's way more linear than it seems to be. There's not nearly enough alternate outcomes for a game that prides itself on choice. During the backwards driving scene, you could mess up every single outcome, and he still won't die. The opening is completely out of your hands. By and large, the ending stays the same.
Growlanser II handled freedom of choice better than Heavy Rain did. Many events in the game can change entirely based on the smallest decisions(like Charlone not attending the Unicorn Knight training just because the main character got poisoned, if you opt to stay behind).
