Wasn't Strange Journey supposed to be SMT #4? I hope its just not an update/port.

Very interested. There's a lot of stuff that'll make me play my 3DS soon, and they're not just ports, either!

I was just thinking to myself today how handhelds are my favorite choice for a dungeon crawler type of game. All I truly wish is now that Nintendo can release a 3DS revision with more battery life so we can play Soul Hackers, SMT4 and Bravely Default without worrying about not being tied to an outlet.

Just threw up in my mouth a little from excitement.
Too much info?
Hey, I might actually have a reason to check out this 3DS thing I have laying around.

I was thinking the same thing, but then a friend of mine pointed out that Strange Journey was actually never intended to be IV. I'll see if I can find the quote again.

I think SJ was originally intended to be SMTIV, but since they never actually CALLED it SMTIV, I guess they'd changed their mind.

Man, why'd this crap have to be the first reply?
Anyways, yeah, Strange Journey was considered as SMTIV earlier on, but they abstained from naming it that due to the focus being outside of Tokyo. This being SMT4 proper is a declaration of being based there.

Adding a quote:
"Kaneko once admitted that this was meant to be Shin Megami Tensei IV - the only thing keeping it from an "official" numeral was that it takes place in the South Pole as compared to Tokyo, like the older games. The change to a more neutral location was done in hopes to appeal to a worldwide audience, fearing that the concentration on modern day Japan would be off-putting for foreigners. In spite of this, it's still clear that Strange Journey is the true successor to Nocturne that most Megatenists have been waiting for."

Probably because he doesn't have, like myself, like many people.
If I could choose, honestly I`d have chosen the Vita as there are already a bunch of RPGs coming to it but hey, at least the second screen might be handy to check the map without having to pause all the time.
Back to the game, I really hope it to be 3rd person like Nocturne. Even though I had my gripes with Nocturne I still liked it.
