trading in used games

Is there any strategy to this? do they have special coupons to give more value or anything? I've got a bunch of games I'll likely never play again and if moving twice in the last year (soon to be 3) is that holding onto things like that is pointless.
Is it better to just trade them in for points or pre-orders?

Gamestop/BestBuy usually have deals on this all the time and are more likely for exclusive preorder bonuses. If you have old, old stuff, just go to an independent game store.

My experience says you'll get much, much more $$$ from E-Bay or even selling them somewhere like here. Gamestop will low ball you to death.

selling online is a pain in the gluteus maximus. by the time you factor in shipping and fees it's not worth it. I just want to get rid of some current gen games in a fell swoop.
I have about 13 or 16. I'm not worried about getting max value since 99% of them were bought used or 1/2 price.

True, but keep in mind shipping and all that. Or the fact a lot of people don't want to go through the effort. IIRC, you pay for listing, so you've gotta price effectively so that you actually get
your
stuff bought against the competitions.
You do get money, but some Gamestop deals can really help ya around if you're putting towards new stuff.
Alternatively, I've actually made some pesos through Gamestop since they don't how to price rare-items. I buy 'em cheap, sell 'em high. :D
You mind as well make a post in the bizarre thread.

Even with shipping and listing i still say better deals can be had via E-Bay, thus admitted you have to know the market values and be patient and know exactly how much you are willing to take (I set reserves on everything) and as far as shipping bubble wrap envelopes are cheap and it takes less than $2 to ship a game. I've been a seller on E-Bay for yrs, but to each his own, I know some simply don't like the hassle of listing, waiting, shipping, etc. and taking them into retail and getting them sold at bulk is quicker and I admit easier.

Good guy Bytor.
If there's anything he doesn't want, I'd say wait for a GS promotion that's like 3 used for 1 brand new or whatever.

I agree with Bytor. I sell on eBay too. It's not hard and you can get significantly more than you would for trading something in at a store. Shipping costs are an irrelevant extra because the buyer pays shipping, just charge them the right amount.

I'm in the market for certain PS1 and PS2 games. Shoot me a PM if you think you might have something I'm interested in.

I'm haggling for current gen only.
The only PS2 and PS1 games I have are keepers.

Trading them in for pre-orders will get their most mileage if you don't want to sell them online. Other than that, maybe look at listing them on free websites like Craigslist? Just meet in a public location.
