People generally consider it a poor sequel. Didn't spend serious time with it though.

You can, however, use your girlfriend as a makeshift weapon.

This was the highlight of this game, as well the Surf-Rock (Surfcoasters) Themed-anime introduction and bike sections of the game. It's been a while since I played it, but I remember enjoying it (granted, I never played the first). Honestly though, check out a random gameplay video of it on youtube to get a better feel of the game.

The first one was a good game, this was a cheap piece of junk with somewhat cool art direction. Using a girl as a weapon was funny for a few minutes, but quickly lost its novelty because it was actually effective., making you wish you had a woman stick more often. The story was dull, the game progression waa dull, and the gameplay was at its best...yep, dull. I was very displeased with this game, Brave Fencer was WWWWAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY better.

It was okay. Nothing special, but nothing too great either. It kind of paled in comparison to the PSX prequel, which was much more fun and goofy.

Anyway, it's a dread that nobody knows the name for, like those little square plastic gizmos that close your bread bags. I don't know the name for those either."
