I was surprised they announced the XL model so quickly. Makes me sadface. Only thing that makes me feel better about my expensive, inferior 3DS purchase is that it's the Zelda model.

Must've been some internal problem.

Maybe the 3DS leak caused them to be more vigilant on that front? I know that the announcement for the 3DS only came because of the leak, and it came on the heels of the DSi XL announcement, which was a total blunder.

Im a little miffed, since I just picked up a used 3ds, but I technically got it for 30 bucks, due to a friend owing me money for some magic cards, I guess I can't complain to much.  Im a bit curious as to how the games will scale.  Will the huge size increase cause a degradation in quality?  Or does that not really happen anymore?  Im not very intelligible on that kinda stuff.

Maybe for "regular" DS games. For 3DS games? I doubt it.

And there wasn't much doubt of Layton getting an NA release, but nice to have confirmation just the same.

Well, they did everything I expect them to do: Increasing the size of the handheld and give it more battery life.

Enough reason to get one now with the few interesting RPGs that are coming out.

Wrong, Zelda model owners are in possession of the one original 3DS that is OBVIOUSLY SUPERIOR to the new XL versions coming out.
