Margaret Thatcher is dead. Despite my intense feelings of hatred towards her, I'm gonna try and not be to crass about it. However, I do find it amusing that the hashtag on twitter #nowthatchersdead is being taken as "Now that Cher's dead" and not "Now Thatchers Dead".

I've seen some widely differing opinions on her death.  Pretty interesting from a 'Murican perspective to notice that Eastern Europeans seem to love her and Brits seem to hate her.

I believe she supported Eastern European dissidents at the time, that may be why.

Not all Brits hate her. The middle class in the south of England adore her, they made a lot of money when Thatcher sold off the industries in Scotland, Northern England and Wales. Services temporarily had more money, and all it costed was the livelihood (or just the lives, many people commited suicide because they couldn't bare the shame of being unable to provide for their family)of the working class.

Allow me to clarify, noisy Brits (and by that I mean British people that inhabit the internet) seem to hate her. ;)

Oh fuck no, there are literally people dancing in the street. WE DO HATE HER. I'm just saying there is a circle of posh people that think she is their old-fashioned mother and the war goddess Athena rolled into one.

http://www.policymic.com/articles/34339/dr-kermit-gosnell-s-abortion-trial-why-isn-t-the-media-covering-it

Dr. Kermit Gosnell, an abortion clinic doctor who carried out abortions passed the legal 24-week mark.  This happened back in 2011, but this is the first I've heard about it (I'm guessing the issues in covering a story like that are deep in hot water about "what's suitable for TV", protecting people, and it's not as if the voices against abortion aren't loud enough already -- but choosing to *not* cover a story is is certainly an issue on its own).

Y'know, I got thoughts on this, but I'm just gonna leave and go to bed.

I tried to take that article seriously, Dice, but the clown who wrote it obviously doesn't speak english well. It made for a very shitty read.

Wut

It was largely the inspiration for Waters' last album with Pink Floyd.
I personally like it more than The Wall, but I know I'm in the minority.

I work and live 3 miles from there.

If it was an attack things are going to get ugly.
