If you mean surprised that he was stupid enough to allow himself to be quoted saying that on camera, then I completely agree.

RE: Boston stuff, I'm glad that one is down (and thus not going to hurt any more people) but I can hope they can take the second one alive and get some information out of him about the bombing.  Also, between politicians already rushing to leverage this situation for political gain and the conservative sites my father reads picking apart every quote they can from the bombers and/or family members to get an "HOMG MUSLIMS ARE TEH EVIL" reaction I'm getting really sick of people--across the political spectrum--using this tragedy as an excuse to push their shit.

As far as I can remember water is, in a global sense, becoming more scarce as the population of Earth rises.  However, that's an issue for us as Human beings to rise up and figure out a solution so as many people as possible can have free, clean water.  Not hoard/privatize so only the privileged can have it.

I'm getting really sick of people--across the political spectrum--using... tragedy as an excuse to push their shit.

Kind of like how a few hollywood people got their twitter acct hacked and some congressional douchenozzle was all like, "Hey this is why we need cispa gaiz!"  cuz fuck constituents, right?

Unfortunately, while doable, desalting water is quite expensive.  They're working on engineering solutions to make it cheaper, but these things take time.
